Topic | Should I play Hollow Knight RIGHT NOW? |
CoolCly 09/02/25 4:31:24 PM #53: | I started this a few days go, I'm like 5 hours in, it's pretty fun. Definitely a slow start but I'm looking forward to thinks opening up pretty more. I can see a lot of the elements that really make people love this though. I doubt I'm going to love this like the diehard fans, but I'm not really a metroidvania kinda guy. I'll remember like, max three things to go back to before I get overloaded and then I'll even forget those three. foolm0r0n posted... My hot (but probably very common) take is that the graphics turn me off more than anything What exactly do you mean by this? I don't know that I have any thoughts about the graphics from a technical perspective, but the art direction of this game is incredible. Every indie game dreams of its art hitting this perfectly. How do people generally compare this to Ori and the Blind Forest? Is one higher on the pedestal or are they about even? I loved Ori in general (though I more appreciated the metroidvania aspects than truly loved them), and my feeling is that game was a little more cinematic in presentation and a bit more floaty in the movement, while Hollow Knight feels a bit more grounded in the combat, though they are not really that far away from eachother in any aspect. --- The batman villians all seem to be one big joke that batman refuses to laugh at - SantaRPG ...
