The rubber wore off of parts of the left stick of my wired one, and the cable started losing connection if it was held at the wrong angle, which progressively got worse. I broke down and replaced it with a new Switch Pro controller last year. It worked fine for like 12-14 years of being my only PC controller, though, so I can't complain too much. I wore out the stick on one of my Wavebirds faster than that (though, to be fair, Smash is particularly hard on sticks). --- This is my signature.
