But it isn't uncommon to be more upset by a friend who let's you down, than an enemy who does what you expected. It doesn't mean they're the same. It just means that betrayal is sometimes hard to take.
The Liberals used to be fairly similar to big parts of the US Democrats but since 2022 they have become a doormat for the Nationalists despite literally having the power to stop those policies. The Right-wing government have the support of 176 MPs while the opposition have 173. 16 of those 176 are Liberals.

And that is exactly it. Being stabbed in the back and let down hurts more than someone you already disliked doing what they said theyd do.
