Solid is mainline, but that doesn't make the 2D games Solid titles. Because they literally aren't titled Solid. This isn't hard to grasp. When someone calls Metal Gear Solid 2 the second Metal Gear Solid, do you go "actually it's the fourth"? --- Mega Man X DiVE Offline is good!
