I like audiobooks if I'm working or something that lets me wear headphones. So it's like I'm getting paid to listen to audiobooks all day and that's fun.

But reading is better and the reason is that the speaker, without intention, alters the tone of the book in ways that were not intended and it takes away some of the fun. The benefit of an audiobook is primarily multitasking.

I do want to offer one counterpoint.

There are some books written today that were made in collaboration with its audiobook counterpart.
