I dont think anyone refers to horror when they talk about scream. Idk I wasnt in the previous topic but Im guessing they meant slasher and if they didnt they should have.

scream absolutely revitalized the genre. Theres probably an argument for horror itself owing some credence to scream just due tot he fact horror was near blackballed but for the most part I assume most people are talking about slashers and specifically the subversions and self referential aspects to the genre that were mostly non-existent beforehand

edit: now that Ive read the previous topic this one just seems weird so Ill counter your post with:

And not just counting the gross but specifically the market share which is whats attributed to Scream outside the tropes it popularized. This topic seems more of a fail to me tbh.
