Wanglicious 10/07/25 2:03:21 PM #59: | novelty after long enough time becomes very normalized and part of everyday life. hell, a lot of art made by people uses AI nowadays too, and i don't mean just the image generated stuff with a couple extra prompts to adjust what you want. i'm meaning multiple functions built into photoshop that have, over the past 2-3 years, expanded enormously to what it could do for the number of clicks of what you wanted it to do. it's photo editing so there was also some element of changing what's there, removing things, image corrections, etc but now all that's streamlined to do way more. now, if anybody's using that? it isn't uncommon for at least some of the work to have been AI assisted, even if it's as simple a case of remove item -> make the new background make sense. all that assisted by (what should honestly be illegal) bullshit done where they can snoop around, of course. the "novelty" of AI is going to be built into things so much that people won't actually realize it's AI they're using. at that point, you're fully through the looking glass and we're pretty close to it on a couple fields. give it 2-3 more years, tops. My favorite ever description of AI slop was said recently by Zelda Williams when people kept sending her deepfakes of Robin Williams ...yeaaah... no. the idea of sending her deepfakes of her dad is pretty awful. desecration of the dead for a thumbs up is pretty much stuck on the internet too long behavior, with that unfortunately being a good two generations deep, well on its way for a third. speaking of which, paul walker's estate does not feel that way about him clearly. >_> --- "Maybe it's a tentacle, molesting the planet itself. - Aschen Brodel. ...
