Russia still would have had basically the exact same influence - none of the republican's in 2016 would have looked twice at international influence because even by 2016 none of the republicans had value anymore.

Realistically, it would have been basically the same, except without a super-charismatic Trump making everything obvious, it would have just flown under the radar and been considered "normal government".

Everything would have gotten worse in very similar ways, but we wouldn't have quite as rabid a conservative fascist fanbase afterwards, and someone like Biden probably wouldn't have won in 2020 and we'd have a 8-year republican term. Though it'd also mean we'd probably get a do-nothing democrat in 2024.

However, Trump moving on to probably have a reality TV channel like he wanted in 2016 would also mean he probably wouldn't be running for President in either 2020 or 2024.

So we'd probably continue the slow decay of the government that was already happening, instead of hitting the "blow up everything button" so many times like Trump did. We might have pushed our current hellhole back like 5-10 years, but nothing would be done to stop it.

I prefer a fascist with decorum than a chaotic evil one. His antics overshadow the bad stuff he does for the most part.
