I understand not liking Schumer generally, but I've seen no real indication that Democrats ending the shutdown is his fault, or anyone's really, other than the 8 or so centrist Dems who decided to vote with Republicans. The leaders of each half of Congress are supposed to lead their people, but they don't actually have the power to compel them to vote one way or another on anything.

He's either sincere when he says he opposed the deal, meaning he lacked the leadership to stop the eight from crossing the aisle to work with Republicans to strip millions of Americans of their healthcare, or he's lying and coordinated this in a way that puts the blame on the least exposed members of his caucus. Either way, he needs to be shamed and run out of town.
