Footballers are nobheads on the whole. Listing someone like Gerrard, as obviously awful a person as he is, doesn't do anything to damage my point.

Portugal actually go out of their way to damage the game. Ashley Cole left a club for more money. Pepe may literally by psychotic. Gerrard dives a bit. Nani made a career out of it. There IS no comparison; they are the very worst.

I think number of goals in tie-breakers comes after the differences in goals between opponents, (+2, -1, etc.) Number of goals is still matter, but it is the third criteria after points, and goal difference.

Oh and Portugal beat us twice in a row - on penalties - but it isn't really to do with that. Everybody who's opinions are worth a damn think Portugal are bastards. Not just the English.

2)Goal Differentia in matchesl between tied teams (if more than 2 teams are tied)
3)Goals Scored in matches between tied teams (if more than 2 teams are tied)
4)Goal Differential in all matches
5)Goals Scored in all matches
6)Position in the UEFA national team coefficient ranking system
7)Fair play conduct of the teams (final tournament);
8)Drawing of lots

Essentially, if Netherlands were to win 3-2 today, and create the perfect 4 way tie, Germany and Netherlands could each play for a scoreless tie and advance based on tiebreaker 6

Although thats obviously a huge risk since if they play for 0-0 it just takes a 1-1 game in the other fixture to be eliminated
