I've decided to run a topic series until I get bored of it. It will consist of diametric opposites fated to destroy each other. I will accept nominations if anyone is interested, otherwise I'll just come up with ideas on my own.

I have always VASTLY preferred Pepsi, but am not so stuffy about it that I will not drink Coke if Pepsi isn't an option.

I was actually concerned because I wasn't sure if I should include Dr. Pepper, but decided it wasn't quite on their level.

Coke and Pepsi definitely taste different

I don't drink any soda anymore, but when I did Diet Coke was the only one I could drink of the main four. Regular Coke and regular Pepsi are both way too sweet. Diet Coke is apparently terrible for you (even compared to regular soda I mean) but it tastes so much better.

Coke is great. I ask servers which one they serve, and choose another drink if Coke is not available.

Pepsi does remind me of my childhood, like movie matinees in the summer on Wednesdays. But as I've gotten older? Ehhh.

There are a few sodas I enjoy drinking, but none of them are brown. If these two were the only two sodas available, I wouldn't choose either.

(Ok, not strictly true. I do like Dr Pepper on rare occasion. But that's super rare, and I'll never choose Coke or Pepsi over any other options)

Pepsi easily. Coke is really overly-branded. Heck, it almost died out a while back. Then new Coke happened and they returned 'old' Coke and it suddenly got massively popular.

IMO they're both similar enough to be interchangeable. I never understand people who order Coke at a restaurant, is told they have only Pepsi products, so they get something completely different.

Coke definitely makes the better rum mix between the two (rum shines through too much with pepsi). That said, on the whole I prefer coke over pepsi, except when in their cherry variants.
