So in other words they make like $150,000/yr for ten months and then $0/yr for two months. Damn, teachers have it so hard!

Who in the fuck makes that? Unless you live where they tax 50% of an income over a certain amount that is not a reflection of what US teachers make.

That's per year prorated for a 10 month working period.

That's how teachers try and mislead you. "I don't get paid for 2 months". So you need to spread their annual salary over a 10 month period, and it's actually more than it seems.

I am a teacher, and I can assure you that our salaries are not that comfortable. I make 40k a year in ten months and that's barely enough to make ends meet with a family. And couple that with being a coach, I spend 60-70 hours working and am compensated very little. Teacher salaries are not on par with lawyers and doctors. Janitors do less work and make as much as I do.

Become a janitor, then.

Nationally, the median household income is around 50-55k. Two teachers living together each making 40k is 80k. Roughly 25k-30k above the median household income.

And they both get a solid two full months off during the summer, as well as two weeks during Christmas, a week during Thanksgiving, and several three day weekends.

If they feel they want more money, they can get a part time job during the summer to supplement their income.

They're also doing something productive for society. You guys are basically glorified baby sitters/failed jail guards.

I think that a job a teacher is one of the easiest and less skillful jobs someone can have.

It's no wonder you would think that by the look of your mangled sentence.

Fun fact: Over half of all teachers come from the bottom third of their college class. Our worst students are left to teach other students.
