I am a teacher, and I can assure you that our salaries are not that comfortable. I make 40k a year in ten months and that's barely enough to make ends meet with a family. And couple that with being a coach, I spend 60-70 hours working and am compensated very little. Teacher salaries are not on par with lawyers and doctors. Janitors do less work and make as much as I do. And they both get a solid two full months off during the summer, as well as two weeks during Christmas, a week during Thanksgiving, and several three day weekends.
