Yeah, same with me. I think my favorite could finish as high as maybe 45th (out of 99), but no higher than that. It probably finishes around the middle of the list.

The biggest problem with this podcast is that Ermine and Steiner's audio level is much lower than Nick's audio level. It's harder to hear Ermine and Steiner than Nick.

After going through the list of Gen VII Pokemon, here were the Pokemon which did not get mentioned during the podcast episode:

Pikipek, Trumbeak, Mareanie, Tsareena, Wimpod, Hakamo-o, Cosmog, Celesteela, Alolan Geodude, Alolan Graveler


Grubbin, Pyukumuku, and Necrozma were mentioned in the episode, but they weren't talked about in more detail. Those 3 weren't discussed in terms of what you guys think about them and where they might finish in the rankings.

During the episode, Nick talked about how Popplio got such terrible evolutions. This reminds of a time where Nick originally ranked Popplio above Litten and Rowlet, but this was well before Brionne and Primarina were officially revealed. In the now deleted #e3-2016 channel, this was a conversation I had between Nick and myself:

Luster Soldier: If Popplio's final evolution turns out to be Water/Fairy, would you still pick him?

Whiskey Nick: Water is such a great typing that it makes up for the trash that is Fairy


Those were not the exact words posted in the #e3-2016 channel since the channel is deleted, but I tried my best to paraphrase the conversation as best I could.

I do find it a bit unusual that Nick was still on the Popplio train even though there was a possible chance of Water/Fairy for the final evolution. When any Pokemon is Fairy, you have to suspect there a good chance that it will have a feminine looking design. There are some exceptions to the rule like Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu which look masculine, but they are very much in the minority for Fairy types.

There are usually ways of adjusting audio levels.
