The thing is, he could very well be leading people to damnation because they don't know if they're living in sin. Pointing that out to people often makes them uncomfortable, but that's par for the course. If you're really concerned about going to heaven then you need to be given wake up calls if you're (pardon the meme reference) straying from God's light every day. Uplifting messages can be good, don't get me wrong, but if all you're preaching is "times are tough, you're doing great, don't give up" when you're a Christian pastor (who's...you know, supposed to be leading people to salvation) then there's something wrong.

I don't know how anyone would think this is something Jesus would be okay with. It's as simple as this, if Jesus was operating a church with these resources, would he open his doors or turn people away? Unless the streets are literally impassible, I can't imagine the legitimate, godly purpose of having the type of facilities he has if you're not going to use them to help innocent needy people during an emergency. The problem is religion has a strong hold on people. Those in need of any sort of strength, answers or help with any problems they have will gladly give money to a church. Not because they like Joel but because they think he can really reach god and help them. They're being taken advantage of. You shouldn't expect those people to realize that and stop. You should expect the assholes to stop being assholes and hope they'd stop taking advantage of vulnerable individuals. Unfortunately they won't

I been there many times when it was known as The Summit and was home to the Houston Rockets and many concerts and other events, wrestling, rodeo, etc. If he's using those pics as an excuse to say that no one can stay in or use that building, lemme tell you something, that man is a liar. It could be of HUGE use or relief. Any old school Houstonian knows that they could easily open their fucking doors, even if for an emergency responder station. He is a liar.

The below ground parking lot looks flooded, I'll give you that. The rest of the building however is on elevated high ground and is the actual area people could use.
