so I've been seeing a lot of Shelke full dives lately. From what I gather it makes her an elite entrust bot, but I just want to check if this is dependent on having one of her relics or if this works even if she has nothing

i don't think Zidane's gonna work too well for you in 300 unless you're using a wind team (that's what you have for Zidane right, the imperil wind?)

though i guess burst mode mages can keep up damage for a very long time even with only 3 bars, assuming you can survive that long.

I had no real trouble staying alive on 250. Minwu + Gordon give a lot of survivability.

Well it doesn't cost stamina to fail, so I can always try with Zidane then toss him if he's too heavy. Replace him with Sabin or Sephiroth to make the fire damage theme a bit stronger for a bit more damage.

But yeah only real hiccup on 250 was stalling out towards the end. I had to have Vivi whack the dude with his staff to get that last OSB off. But doing the 6 rounds beforehand took a bit of my damage output too so I don't know it might be a push.

just checked and wow. haste and instant cast 3 to start a battle. 3 instant wraths (or 2 wraths and an entrust if you really need the SB right away) to start a battle without having to wait for hastega is pretty great.

don't see any SBs that would affect that aspect of her.

that is a huge investment though and i'm not sure it's one that pays off.

Nova Dragon is the toughest torment so far (in global at least) so don't feel bad if you can't beat him at the moment. He's a tank with 800k Hp and no weakness and he has his "anti-Cloud USB" move ultimate twister (I still use Cloud USB RW against him through since I have Relm's USB for instant heal+stoneskin) Mages are a double edged sword since while they can stay in the back to avoid ultimate twister they may not have enough DPS to take him out with only 3 bars unless it a quick caster like Raines or a 6-hitter.

I legend dived Shelke with no regrets so far, I can consistently sub 30 Mist Dragon now with her supporting Raines or Relm with quick entrusts. I'm hoping I can score Tidus' USB next week so I can sub 30 Liquid Flame since she battery both his chain and USB.

Also I wish the ability buff was here already, I been farming a bunch of dark orbs from Shinra's Finest but it would be a lot easier to clear the nooks if Meteor and 5* summons had their 3 hits now (and knowing Dena they'll patch in the buff when Shinra's Finest is over )

you can protect against ultimate twister with KO resist so it's not much of an anti-Cloud USB. just lose the wind resistance.

I just can't take farming Shinra 100. Dark orbs are nice, but it just takes so long. I don't care how efficient it is.

I'm fine with Torment farming, but playing 5 or more minutes to spend 7 stamina: no thanks.

Nova Dragon has a lot of damage output on 300 - but the nice thing is his Ultimate Twister is guaranteed to trigger Zidane's trance mode if you have his legend dive (or anyone else with a trance mode like Vivi).

Shinra's Finest is a drag, no arguing that but it's also the best way to farm Major Dark Orbs yet, and this event is so easy you can do it while watching youtube or surfing the net. I farmed enough Major darks I got Ultima Weapon, Theif's Revenge and Dash and Shlash to r4 so I'm content for now, any extra dark orbs are gravy.

Ultimates mastered, other than Kain these were a pain the ass.

Kain is so basic and easy as usual the only remotely hard thing is landing slow on him and you can master him anyway without it.

Mom Bomb suuuucked. I forgot fire resistance armor and I really got bit in the ass for that. She has scripted piercing explosions when she splits into 6 bombs and each of those explode on death as well. I didn't Cid Mission this one and I still had a hard time with my Bartz/Vaan/Ramza team. Had to stall for meter and had to pick at each bomb with Vaan's addle burst command to lessen the damage from the explosions.

Always hate fighting Barbariccia and now she has a cheap front row to 1 hp move at the start and then she follows it up with an aoe electric magic attack. Had to swap Bartz for Kain (she doesn't have a weakness, and you need to jump her to get medals anyway) Had Kain jump to avoid it, Vaan use thief's revenge and had Rosa heal Ramza. Oh and she also can petrify as well to fuck you over.

In the Mom Bomb fight, if you kill several of the mini bombs at the same time, the game won't even let HP Stock trigger between their Explodes. So that's not as useful here as it should be. (But, if that means the game treats simultaneous Explodes as one attack hitting multiple times, Guts / Last Stand could be really helpful here.)

I didn't even care about the OSB but I'll take +10 Mag since she's definitely going to be my main attack mage for a long time. I guess it gives her a bit better elemental coverage if nothing else. But yeah that's pretty much the best luck I've had on any banner since the release of the game. First time I ever gave Rydia any draws too-- and quite possibly the last time, really, as I see her being pretty viable for a really long time with all those goodies. Just need to record dive her.

finally went through IV event (other than the multiplayer, which i did ASAP). i didn't have any trouble, really, except trying to CM Mom Bomb. i eventually gave up on that after trying both a pure mage team and then switching in PCecil. not once was i even able to survive one turn of those fuckers after the split. if i could, Cecil BSB + Leviathan should kill them all, and Cecil should be able to survive with his huge HP pool.

Apparently the Black Friday draw is going to be BSB+ (and LMR), full price, guaranteed three 5* or higher relics. If you're planning on pulling on FFX, it's a good idea to wait until Friday just in case you get anything from there (unlikely as it is).

There's also going to be some kind of random item draw for three days, where you can get mythril, growth eggs, or upgrade mats.

Lastly, the 5* and 6* ability buff is happening Monday. Good times ahead.

Also forgot stamina potions will be available in the greens shop Monday.

Mom Bomb CM is a real pain, I haven't beaten it yet. With no Medica I just couldn't keep up with the damage. I'm going to try bringing Gordon USB for my RW, and the Magicite that gives you 20% fire resist.

Beat the Nova Dragon on 300 difficulty awesome

Used Rydia Vivi Yuna Gordon Minwu and yeah Rydia was pretty vital. Triple MAG boost between Gordon Rydia and Yuna made the magic damage really legit was hitting for 9999x2 with pretty much every skill use from Vivi and the two summoners.

First time I've used a mage team. Surprised I wasn't able to triple hit with Opogopogo even with all 3 boosts up though. Maybe once I dive her.

Also did mombomb Cid's Mission in the dumbest way possible by having Rydia accidentally exploding all the bombings immediately with her burst entry going off right after Mombomb split and having big man Yang tank all 6 Ultimate Explodes with Moderate Fire Resist + Guts

Unfortunately have to do it again now but now I can just do it again with Minwu's Enduring Renewal up and have everyone survive

All that extra mythril has gotten me up to 160. Will be at 172 (at least) by Friday. Guaranteed 3 five stars of at least burst of LMR is too tempting to pass up.

Also, did 200 and 250 Nova Dragon today, didn't have enough time to do 300. Will do that next time.

I have 430 mythril right now but I'm gonna pull tomorrow (would have had another hundred if I didn't waste them on the Type-0 renewal, and now Japan just had an Type-0 event where Ace's Burst is on a banner with no dupes or Nine garbage, wish I knew about that earlier so I wouldn't have impulse pulled)

Shinra's Finest ends tomorrow, which is bittersweet since it's a bore to farm but getting major orbs for such little stamina is too good. Also I almost forgot Blazing Twinstrike uses dark orbs so I had to farm a bunch today to get it to r4.

No 5* motes were used on this team.

Everyone's in the backrow, but Lunge still hurts a lot without Protectga, so I don't want to see it too much. I could give Papa Protectga, but I'm not sure I'd still be sub 30 then.

Sazh proves himself as a quality buffer+entruster once more. The Faithga+double instant cast allowed me to launch Shantotto USB around the 10 second mark, while still buffing everyone's damage by ~50%, which is why I prefer him over spending motes on a pure entruster.

Ashe takes a bit longer to start her BSB, but her initial damage with Valigarmanda is better, so she doesn't need her BSB as early.

Lenna can kinda keep up with the damage, thanks to TGC mode, but it's not an easy task for her. Still, the 3rd Faithga noticeably improves damage output, so I feel she's a better pick here than, say, Yshtola with a stronger medica. Maybe Yuna with her BSB2 would be a safer pick, but the Res-buff on Lenna's USB is neat. I should give Yuna a try, I guess.

Ultimates mastered, I'm feelin' pretty lousy tonight after not getting the USBs so I didn't do so well.

We fought this Seymour gauntlet like three times haven't we? He's been powercreeped hard at this point with Bartz USB. Also I just checked that Seymour and Anima are actually weak to fire this time so I guess bringing Engulfing Twinstrike was a mistake but whatever Bartz's USB entry got me the medals.

Fucked up on Seymour and Mortibody because I forgot Enkidu and banishing strike, I was hoping I could kill him with Paine and Tidus under Cloud RW fast enough but his protect and aoe magics got the better of me so I had to waste one stamina to bring those two things. He became cake after that.

Yojimbo is easy but he has a really annoying gimmick where he can 100% silence your back row members, so my white mage Yuna got screwed over by that, I did bring Enkidu this time and his ensuna cured Yuna's Silence and got a few curagas out of that before she got silenced again but thankfully Yojimbo doesn't have much HP for an Apoc+ and a water weakness so I could kill him fast enough with Bartz and Tidus without needing much healing (needed Chant's stoneskin through)

At least one bright thing tonight is that I can sub30 Liquid Flame now with Tidus' BSB2, that should kill my itch to do further draws on this banner (the problem is that it hasn't come back yet in Japan so I'm hoping it gets added to the third year festival)



At least I was able to sub30 two magicite before the ability buff, even if these are the easiest ones.

Got impatient, did one more pull, and got both Ultras. 2/11 Tidus USB and Paine USB. Didn't get the chain or the good BSBs but this is probably where I stop since there's too much risk of dupes. I at least have two good water characters now.
