all these people on the FFRK board talking about how they got Tidus CSB so they can finally sub-30 Marilith and i'm just like... i needed this thing to sub-30 liquid flame and can't even half kill Marilith.

I actually need Tidus's Chain, Ultra, LM and BSB2 to sub30 Marilis, and that's with luck. This bitch has over a million HP, so I need to keep entrusting Tidus after Chain/Ultra with BSB2 then use that instant cast on a Sapphire shot then hopely give entrust him again so he has another meter. Even if I'm capping 9999s with his chain and KO's USB it needs to be done fast if I want to make it under 30.

*4 magicite is dumb, but at least they're always there so you can fight them when you feel ready. Unfortunately it's going to get dumber with Extreme Fest's Weapons and new torments.

Yeah, personally I'm not a fan of the crystal tower because if you screw up after the first fight you have to repeat and that sucks.

I like 4* Magicite because it's a challenge but there's no time pressure, if it's too hard you can just leave it until your team gets stronger. The only thing that conflicts with that is the keystones, if you can't beat any Magicite then it sucks because it feels like you're falling behind wasting keystones.

The game definitely can be frustrating and about a month or two ago I was pretty close to quitting. I've gotten back into it though and am actually enjoying it a fair amount right now.

i have all that stuff for Tidus, too, but no one else that can take advantage of the chain. i could sort of alleviate that by diving Shelke to just boost Tidus's damage further, but my issue was surviving. so more importantly, i need that Relm or Rosa USB. maybe Eiko or Selphie. or maybe pulling for Yuffie next fest will let me kill it so fast that i don't need a better healer.

the new torments actually look fun. at least, the second difficulty looks like it'd be fun for my stacked realms and the first looks like it'd be fun for my barren realms. the third difficulty is just absurd. not sure what that other thing you mentioned is.

I have the Y'sh BSB and the Tidus LM so only two dupes possible (wish I'd held off on drawing for the Tidus LM but whatever). Thinking this might be worth drawing on despite no real desire to use Onion Knight just in preparation for future Torment Dungeons requiring full RS parties-- got a lot of my weaker realms with really strong relics on this banner. I don't know.

The weapon bosses from FF7 (Emerald, Ruby, Ultima and Sapphire) are going to be uber bosses in a fest (it was New year's in Japan) coming up and they're harder than 4* magicite bosses.

Also I just did the broken soul bosses and they're all really easy. Their stats are way lower than the normal version, summons wreck the duo's and my doublecasts Terra and Papalymo made short work of Squall

This is my problem. New uber bosses, 4* and eventually 5* magicite, the new torments...none of this sounds appealing to me. To keep up with powercreep the options are basically:

*getting really lucky with relic pulls (lol)
*becoming a whale (fuck that, even if I could afford it)
*an even bigger time / energy investment in farming (kill me)

Not to mention all the trial and error it's going to take to actually beat any of these bosses.

I have plenty of tools to handle all the content so far, but I'm missing a few key pieces to really have a top-tier team--almost all of which are on this banner. I know it's RNG, but for the game to give me a giant middle finger like this is really the last straw.

I'll probably 5* dive Squall, because that looks just like the kind of boost my Ice team needs so desperately. It still won't be enough for Tiamat, but it's a major improvement.

ugh that Banner 2. I have six dupes, but four of the relics I don't have would be immensely useful, and the others would still be good. The only non-dupe I probably wouldn't be thrilled with is Noctis. With 333 mythril I could easily pull, but I want to keep my options open for the anniversary Fest plus I do want to pull once on FFT. This is a tough decision.

The pull I did I got Ramza BSB2 and a dupe Tidus LMR. Having two Tidus LMRs isn't totally useless since I can use the water boost, but I would have spent my $30 on something else if I'd known about the banner (since I would have waited to select).

Guys who have Tidus CSB/USB - are you giving him Thunder God Mode RM? I think it's the way to go. But you probably still need at least one other character with a solid water SB to get sub 30. FWIW I don't use Protectga against Malaris and physical attacks aren't a problem.

no, i use +30% damage and powerchain turn one while i entrust for the CSB. then he has quick cast from the CSB to cast the USB quicker. then it's an instant chain with that water ability (i can't remember its name) and BSB2.

or at least that's how i do liquid flame.

Yeah, broken soul wasn't too bad. Difficulty was fairly low to compensate. I did use the new 5* bard ability for the first time (the stacking attack buff) but in retrospect I didn't need it.

I was working hard on Kraken yesterday. I got my kill down to 33.18, and I had another one that was one hit away at 30.24 but I restarted, that one probably would have been a 31 or 32. I really could use Lightning's doublecast LMR instead of that 2nd copy of Tidus's, sigh.

Gonna draw on tonight's lucky draw and hope to get lucky. Top five prizes for me are probably:

It's been pretty slow recently, I hate how stuff like Dressed to the Nine's and this Disiddia event are taking up the weekly event instead of just being mini "Tuesday events." And the fact that Dena isn't doing Daily Missions is leaving everyone mythril starved. I was thinking about doing a couple of pulls on FF14's second banner but this mythril drought is making me reconsider with the third anniversary coming soon.

Even Japan seems to be having a slow time, no new characters this month and they only had Ultimecia last month. I kinda understand why since a lot of characters are neglected on banners (hi Angeal) and we're mostly scrapping at C-list but we still should have gotten Reis or Beowulf in the last Tactics event.

So my sub 30 Fenrir team is Ayame as the main DPS, with BSB+hailstorm spam, and Squall supporting with snowspell strike, and OSB/USB. Now that I got his BSB2, I tried switching it up and making him the main DPS, but I've done it twice and gotten 32-34 seconds each time. Maybe because he doesn't have the self buff in hailstorm? Or his BSB2 takes a few turns to really get going?

I don't have his BSB2 but my two main questions would be whether he's at the atk soft cap after buffs (805 atk) and whether you're using Thunder God's Might on him to get more full power hits with the burst.

Are you guys doing the dungeon updates or waiting for the reward increase that's supposed to come around the 3rd anniversary? I haven't done the last one yet but now I kinda want to do them so I have more mythril for Orlandu.

I've been holding off on dungeons since I've came back to the game because I heard that was happening. Only at 166 max stamina right now.

If you really want to powergame you can do the dungeons but intentionally avoid mastering, then go back and master when the rewards are upgraded but I'm still not really sure that's worth it considering you could use that extra stamina spent on mastering the dungeon updates to run dailies instead.

you don't necessarily want to hold off on dungeons at that level, because you get a reward based on how many you've completed, and most of them don't have much better rewards. you're better off just skipping the 20 or so that have multiple extra majors handed out. or at least that was my plan since i didn't find out about this until i had like, 770 done and you get the top reward for having at least 801 done.

although you're behind enough that you might actually be better off waiting just above the 601 threshold, assuming that's where you're at.

as far as Squall BSB2 goes, yeah, he needs TGM or at least legend dive to get those stacks up quicker. both is ideal, then you can likely get five commands in at max stacks, which is huge.

speaking of Ayame, that BSB would have helped a lot on that FFXI torment i did for the first time yesterday. the 200 CM took me 3 tries, with the winning strategy eventually being to take out the trash with Curilla using Gaffgarrion lv99 RM and save both of my Rikku USB uses until the boss fight itself. was pretty annoying and i barely won even with Shantotto and Aphmau BSBs. everyone but those 2 were dead and Shantotto had 1s left on doom from memento mori.

then the 300 CM i just couldn't do. i 2 CM'd it but i needed Squall/Ramza/Y'shtola to win.

I'm just under 601 so for me it makes more sense to go for the 601 breakpoint at the cost of 2 mythril and 2 of all the major orbs because 200 dungeons worth of upgraded rewards should outweigh the last breakpoint

Honestly, if you get at least a new BSB and it's on a character you don't have anything better for, I consider that an ok pull, which is this case for me.

Even if Fran's BSB is pretty outdated, it's still an AoE Full Breakdown with Attack Breakdown and Mental Breakdown commands. So it's not that bad for me considering how little I expect from these Lucky Draws.
