most of the time, bullying victims are innocent people who just are perceived as "weak" and get targeted . whatever justification you make up is just you trying to explain to yourself how you can do it without feeling like a piece of shit.

If somebody is an asshole, they deserve to be shunned or made aware of it to correct their behaviour. I don't mean beating them up or giving them a swirly or something, but with dumb, mean people you need to fight fire with fire because any attempt at explaining the results of their actions to them will just make you the target. I went to high school with this stuck-up, racist bitch. She was mean to everyone, and picking on the foreign exchange student (who wasn't that popular to begin with) was the last straw. After a while, I think she must've realized how it felt and stopped. I totally dropped my campaign to constantly make the class laugh at her once she began being nice.

Changing gears... Karma fucked this one girl my friend went to school with. She was basically Regina George and so were her friends. She was mean to everybody and then had some stroke or palsy or something that paralyzed her face and made her ugly. All of her shallow friends abandoned her and everyone else just ignored her because of how much of a bitch she had been in the past. After the incident, she sat in the cafeteria alone every lunch. Nobody gave her any sympathy, but at least they didn't pick on her either.

i got in a fight with a bully in elementary and at the end of the day i got in more trouble than he did.

of course that just gave him more ammunition.

i was expelled shortly after for repeat offenses, my dad was a real asshole about it, again, like it was my fault. I think he was just pissed off that I inconvenienced him by having to find another school that would take me.

One school did but they basically cordoned me off from the other kids, didn't let me have recess, every single day was detention, etc etc. Of course, no one was trying to bully me so I had zero issues behaving properly and was once again treated like a human the following year. p.s. i still hate that kid, but he doesn't seem to exist on social media, fingers crossed someone else settled him at some point.

I was bullied and literally wanted to die. Bullying never happens to assholes. It always happens to innocent people who are different, and it makes them depressed and miserable.

It's only justifiable if you can come up with a benefit for it. State what good bullying will achieve, and it's justified. But that's an uphill task.

Imo even if an asshole is bullied, they will just become a bigger asshole. Garbage in, garbage out; I don't see why someone would respond to negative treatment with positive behavior. And in bullying them you're also an asshole (but of course, you won't think you deserve to be bullied).

If you don't like how someone acts, you should tell them upfront what they're doing to irritate you. And distance yourself from them if they don't change. Don't be passive-aggressive about it.

I never got the bad home life justification for bullies. There is nothing excluding the bullying target from having a bad home life on top of being bullied elsewhere, so they may still have it worse.

It has nothing to do with your "innocence", you were weak and so were easy targets for scum who can be justifiably bullied. I was bullied too, but you know what I did? I intimidated them, I bullied them and they quickly stopped thinking they could push me around.

Genocide doesn't work in this example as it describes the amount of something, not the act itself, the act being murder/killing someone in your example, when you do it to many it becomes genocide, but the act itself is still murder/killing someone, and if you change bully to murderer then I still stand by my original post in that context;

Killing a murderer (mass murderer on genocide levels or a single kill murderer alike) is not the same as murder, it's equality and fair treatment, it can also be self defence and punishment by authority, neither of which are legally considered the same thing as committing the crime of murder.

The parallel still doesn't completely work with bullying though as bullying is specifically about unequal, unfair and systematic negative treatment of someone in a weaker position by someone in a stronger position, the whole point of it being bullying is that there's no equality and fair treatment, "bullying" a bully is equal treatment and thus per automatique not what you can label as bullying.
