Dragon Ball Z was one of my first few anime, but not the first. My very first two anime were Pokemon and Sailor Moon (around the same time, can't remember which I started first) and the first anime I ever watched start to finish was Cardcaptors. DBZ came after those for me.

The original Transformers is technically not anime. However it's later continuation in Japan with Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, and Zone are anime.

Never watched DBZ, read the manga. Even then, DBZ (and the original Dragon Ball for that matter) wasn't even my first manga, Saint Seiya was. I think the first anime I ever watched and followed (so excluding Pokemon) was Danganronpa 3.

Back when Nick Jr was fairly new, it aired a few anime shows. I recall watching Maya the Bee and Littl Bits but I cant seem to remember much about the other shows.

It was the first that I watched that I knew was an anime at the time of watching. I somehow didn't know that Speed Racer and Voltron were Japanese when I was a little kid.
