And I imagine a good chunk of it is the game on PC not having Chinese audio and subtitle options on PC despite KT saying on Twitter that it would on all platforms. The combat is more shallow as no longer does each person have their own combos, it's r1+button -> square. And the open world doesn't add anything to the game. Though if they got rid of the grapple hook it would at least make castle sieges an actual thing. There's a few small things they could do and I could see getting fixed in XL that would turn this from bad to okay, but i hope that this is the only experiment with open world. Granted the first day I had it I thought it was a disappointment because of all the changes but the more I play it the more I enjoy it for what it is. I had to learn to basically ignore all the side quests because the rewards are useless trash and farm bandits for the rare coins to buy upgrades with.
