This is one of my favorite games, but these glitches are out of control and its starting to ruin my experience. Spend five minutes loading and then theres apparently a 100% chance the game crashes (PS4) when I fast travel, all of a sudden. Thats so fucked up.

Now, Ive got a solid two hours to wait for the 20gb update file to download and Im praying that solves the issue.

Ive never had it crash that frequently until today. Has anybody had similar experiences with this game crashing?

I've had one crash in about 60 hours of play on PC. It's one of the better optimized games imo.

no way ps4 can handle it properly.

I've played probably around 200 hours on PS4 and never had anything that bad, luckily. The worst I can think of is when the screen goes blurry during conversations when it cuts back and forth to whoever's speaking. Everything else is just visual bugs or goofy collision.

I think its ridiculous that games like this and ffxv are unplayable without an update that takes several hours to download and install.

Same story with fallout and final fantasy. Why the fuck dont they just make capable systems? It already takes five minutes to load fast travel scenes.

The systems are capable, of running games within a year or so of the consoles release. Anything after is a crap-shoot. Console hardware is outpaced by the speed of software development. PC hardware evolves and updates at a commensurate rate.

Yeah, but I feel that Im bombarded with prompts to update this and that. If systems constantly update, then I feel that they should be able to adapt alongside the games. Or maybe the game developers could bother to create games within the parameters of the current systems capability.

Cool, I think the update fixed it. I was able to fast travel without a crash, which was impossible before the update. I have to wait for a few hours to really test it, though. Hopefully thats all it was because Id hate to have a problem with my system or to not be able to finish the game.

I play on PS4 and I've never had it crash. I've had a couple of minor glitches, and one major clipping issue that caused losing a horse race (my horse literally fell through the ground as soon as I spawned), but that's it.

Picked the game up for the first time this weekend on playstation. I've noticed the loading times can be pretty damn long but I hope I don't run into any glitches and stuff. I've put in like five hours and I can already tell I'm gonna put in like a hundred hours into this game.

Definitely. I'm not even a fan of action RPGs and I've played pretty much everything this game has to offer (I just haven't completed the second DLC yet).

Be sure to sell things to corresponding merchants. The far right category of items gets loaded down with stuff, so sell it frequently. Oils and bombs quickly become essential, too. Even if you play on the easiest setting, you cant just hack and slash.

I was playing on one of the higher difficulties (don't think it was the absolute highest) and I never found bombs to be very useful outside of destroying monster nests. Oils and potions, though...

Bombs can make a nice lead-off attack. On slower enemies, like golems, they can help you defeat one thats a higher level. I like the ability in the alchemy tree that adds defense against whichever enemy you use oil for.

New update worked great. I cant believe how much better the game plays. The glitched hunts are fixed. Heres what sucks:

My enhanced cat school gear was able to be equipped at level 20, but the update pushed the requirement to 23, so it unequipped my swords and I cant put them back. At least my armor is still there.

The un-updated game didnt even have to loot boxes to store items. The menus were almost unnavigable and unintuitive. They fixed all of that.

No, but it played just fine for about 40 hours, then boom. Couldnt even move without troubles. I never even thought to look for a patch because it seemed alright at the time.

Is this the state we live in now? Where it is acceptable to release a game that isn't finished? I don't think it's too much to ask to have my game work properly when I buy it.

Worked for me.
Only issue was one cutscene where certain character voices were almost inaudible.

Yes, this is the state we live in now. As games gets more complex, and publishers rushing deadlines so they can start raking in the profits, I have come to accept the trade off. But hey, at least we don't have to patch games manually now.
