Not sure if I've ever run a poll like this, but it seems like that a non-negligable part of the board might have kids now, so we might get some interesting perspectives.

After visiting my brother and spending time with his 1.5 year old, my nephew is great and I love him but it sort of convinced me that I shouldn't have kids. I don't think I'm the kind of person who could dedicate the time year-round. My cat is almost too much of a nuisance and she can walk down the hall without me worrying that she might find something to kill herself with.

My friends cat died from getting its head stuck in a hanger. That was hung up properly in a closet.

Don't give rodents too much credit they can kill themselves just as easily as an unsupervised toddler

For a long time, it was a goal of mine to have a family of my own. But now, I'm leaning to no. I like kids, but I don't think I can handle the full responsibility of them. It's an issue with time and money, really.

I don't feel a need to have biological children. I might adopt, though.

Whenever I hear the common line "kids take up your whole life, but it's the greatest joy you can have", I often wonder if that's kind of a catch-22, since by having kids you by definition don't experience what adult life would be like if it wasn't all dedicated to them. And vice versa as well, I suppose.

Like you can't know what it's like to raise kids and also know what it's like to spend those 18-30 years not raising kids but just doing you.

As for me, it depends on the day as to whether or not I want kids.

Yes, several Christmas movies over the years have played on this trope.

It would be interesting to peek into the alternate universe where I did marry and have kids and see how that life would've looked.

I don't think I'll ever have kids of my own since I've been unsuccessful at dating, but if I ever manage to get my stuff together and put together enough of a support system for the early years then I'd strongly consider adopting someone.

I do not have any children that I know of.

I am of the mind where I have no desire, but also not against the idea if a future partner does want them.

That said, I am not a young man and do not see myself having kids with anyone.

I have worked with kids for much of my adult life though and greatly enjoyed it. So I guess I like being a part-time parent.
