Keep in mind also at the end of WW2 General George Patton said we defeated the wrong enemy. He felt in hindsight that Russia (former U.S.S.R.) was and would be the bigger enemy going forward. The only overly polite comment I noticed was about the world cup. It's normal for politicians to be overly respectful when it comes to summits and the like because the whole point of those is diplomacy. If anything they were both overly polite to each other. And Putin was right... the attitudes that these countries have toward each other is residual cold war attitudes that americans amd russians are hanging on to. Honestly, most of you sound like ancient baby boomers in regards to that but the irony is that most of you probably didnt even live through it. There are legitimate issues that America and Russia have but the election tampering rhetoric is not one of them.
