Crazy or not, the only choice is to pick the cats.

Would hurt humans less. If you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it. Stupid humans that thought cats were "evil" decided to start killing them. Didn't work out well for them. Helped spread the Plague.

They weren't paying attention during the "circle of life" scene in Lion King.

Every creature exists for a reason. Everything is kept in harmony. Disturb that balance, and you'll have issues.

And this is how I know there's a God. The way this world was designed is too precise for all of this to have been random.

Actually the way evolution works is that creatures either adapt to the local flora and fauna, develop a random mutation which helps them survive (and pass that quality on to their offspring), or die out.

And throughout the history of life, a lot of species did die out because they didn't/couldn't adapt.
So the world wasn't designed 'precise'. It was actually quite messy. In the end, all living beings today are the survivors, and we can continue to survive through adaptation.

But if you would like a god to believe in, I suppose you could view nature as such, considering that's quite intricate and all-encompassing.

Cats are so intelligent that even after being domesticated, they never forget their instincts. You can take a healthy house cat, after several years of knowing nothing but being pampered by its owner, and it could go outside and survive...and survive, easily.

Modern dogs that have been specifically bred to appear 'cute' would not last long outside by themselves. Only REAL dogs would survive out in the wild; the ones that were around naturally. Not these little pieces of crap that serve no purpose except to be 'cute.' Only hunting dogs would do well. Hunting dogs that can run fast.

If humans were to suddenly disappear, the only dogs that would be around would eventually be some kind of wolf hybrid sort of dog imo.

Making a topic would be useless. People will try to save face by claiming to be consistent, but it doesn't take a genius to know they're full of shit.

The truth is, those people hate cats because they don't do what they're told. Everyone in this topic knows it, but nobody wants to own up to it.

No it's not.

yes, it is.

No, it's not. It's nice that you think 'science will find a way to solve that within a few years' but if it were as simple as that, literally all of society's problems would be solved by now. Scientists might indeed look into it, but a permanent and stable solution will definitely take more than a few years, since there are an enormous amount of factors to take into account when interfering with the ecosystem in this manner. During that time, many, many people would be negatively affected by the consequences (i.e. disease), resulting in a lot more human casualties than 12,000.

Either choice has a chance of affecting your loved ones. The sacrifice-all-cats choice simply brings a significantly higher chance of (many more) loved ones dying. You're killing people either way: either 12,000 or many more. That's what it comes down to.

not if the government put most of the money or a lot of money into develop machinery or medicine that to kill only rats in the shortest amount of time possible. the world would also help solve that problem by united to spend more money and human power to solve it in the shortest time. the reason other problems that you mentioned didn't qet solved that quickly was because the world didn't get united as one to solve a problem that they see as serve and as important that it needs to be solved immediately as it seemed to be.

exactly.

people who pick killing the cats should be sterilized and never allowed to vote. they are clearly a menace to society with their insane thinking. Science isn't going to solve what cats do. Even this hypothetical proposed fired has the problem of being a long term solution because lots of things eat rats. They are a "prey animal" aka meant to get eaten and killed. So basically we have to do what cats do on a constant steady basis and not do it too well because other things still have to eat rats. In essence if cats kill on average over 10 years, 500,000,000 rats then we have to devise a way to average that number exactly with no deviation.

kill the 12,000 anyone saying otherwise is worse than hitler and stalin combined.

The reproduction rates of rats is very real. So is the fact of how many diseases they carry. So there is something very wrong with what we are all taught about fossil records/carbon dating. Disease spreading rats would absolutely explode if all cats disappeared from the earth. Disease and famine would spread around the world.
