ChipCheezum and SuperGreatFriend are still going, tho SGF now does a lot of "bumbling through" blind LP/streams which arn't as popular as his traditional LPs
I think the runaway guys are still doing LPs but i can't lie it's been years since i even paid attention to them.

I'm not even entirely sure what to say here. Like, I actually haven't watched them in a very long time. They just simply started playing and talking about things that either I don't understand or care about, or things I want to explore myself and not get spoiled. So I'm not actually broken up about this. But they all just seemed really tight as hell. So it still came out of nowhere

Well I feel like they probably aren't gonna have as many means now of coming to events in the US so I'm glad I got to meet Woolie when I did when him and Matt came to NYCC 2 years ago. Unfortunately didn't get to see Matt there because he was off somewhere else in the crowd but I'll take what I can get.

I recommend SuperGreatFriend, if we're recommending people. He is my absolute favorite because he attempts to make sense of dumb bullshit in bad or nonsense games. He's the one who did the best Deadly Premonition LP before everyone else did.

Is he by himself? I liked the Zaibatsu because of their convos. Solo LPs bore me.

Aw, this is sad. I stopped watching their stuff in early 2016 but I was a pretty major fan before that. They were the ones who introduced me to Life is Strange, my favorite game. The business relationship falling apart bothers me less than hearing that they aren't friends anymore, too. What I loved about them was that they all seemed so real with how close they were, like all the shit-talking and inside jokes reminded me of my own friends.

I don't like the whole "Liam lied" mentality. He isn't obligated to tell us every single part of his private life and issues. And I think even without him saying anything people could tell something was up with how he still did collabs with Matt and then Woolie but not Pat. It didn't need to get put on full blast.

Well, part of my point was that if I was a desperate nobody on 4chan and wanted to guess at the source of the tension, about three quarters of that would be exactly what I would say as well. It is just educated guesswork.

Man, I've been following these guys since Matt went by theswitcher and posted Stupidity videos. Loved their group dynamic and I've always really liked their knowledge on fighting games and they were great at giving a ton of obscure games a look at, whether good or bad. My favorite LP's were the bad and/or janky games, which I feel most channels won't even post a video, let alone, a full LP of. This really bums me out.

I have to agree with this. Not out of malice. But Matt got married and Matt's been taking all those breaks, and I feel like his heart's just not entirely into it anymore.

They cancelled Friday's Fisticuffs (Smash) due to "urgent reasons" and I can't help but think something happened to drop the hammer on this happening now. Pure speculation though, we'll probably never really know what went down and that's ok too.

Damn, they couldn't have just waited until Friday?! Everything would have been okay if they just settled it in Smash.

Just found out about this today. Sad times. I've been looking back on some old vids and you can tell that Matt and Pat play off of each other so much better than in even the best recent videos.

Still, seeing this kind of thing where they purposefully shot three separate videos so Matt and Pat didn't have to share the same room... after watching clips of the mailbag and old E3 reactions and how they all seemed to enjoy each other's company so much... feels bad, man. They didn't even get to bow out as the Zaibatsu.

It's sad that they're leaving, but what's worse is thinking that the two who used to feel the most genuinely like two best friends are now borderline estranged.

Only dedicated groups I've been watching anything of lately are Chip and Ironicus (who have been great lately), and 3Guys1Up.

oh, I did watch one video from TheRunawayGuys a couple of weeks ago. first one I watched since like 2014...

I always wanted to get into them, but never did.

i've never watched more than an hour of any let's play series- except for one. that would be their resident evil 4 LP, which I guess is at least 7 years old now. holy shit!

they just knew everything about the game and had infectious enthusiasm and rapport. i'm glad they've been successful in the interim. it's a bit sad that it's ending on a sour note, but i'm glad they're able to move on to whatever they really want to do

I watch Easy Allies (former GT guys) from time to time. They dont do a lot of full games as a group, unfortunately, but their weekly couple hours together is usually pretty enjoyable, and some of their solo stuff is great (watching Kyle Bosman descend into madness recently during Pokmon Channel for example, before giving up and switching to Smash).
