same! for me it was the same as digimon, pokemon and dragon ball z. i never liked it as much but i still a vague memory of certain parts of the show

Sailor Moon Crystal was such a let down. But also, does it kinda bother anyone else that Saturn and Pluto had their "mythologies" reversed in the show? Usually Saturn is related to time, and Pluto is related to death/destruction. But that inconsistency aside, Sailor Moon is legendary and Sailor Jupiter was my favorite! Can't wait till you get to the last 5-ish episodes of the series, TC. Dunno if they are dubbed, but I watched them subbed, and they are iconic.

Now that you mention Digimon, I recently decided to rewatch the original when I learned that there's a remake of season 1 that started this year.
Haven't watched it yet though.

I've tried watching Sailor Moon again (both the original series with the new Viz dub and the Crystal remake) and I just feel like the show has aged really poorly. Sure, it was revolutionary for its time and got a huge following due to airing on Toonami outside of Japan, and it deserves credit for that. But honestly, there's nothing that Sailor Moon did well that Pretty Cure hasn't done ten times better since.

Honestly it's all down to personal taste. The original dub had a lot of problems but it has so much nostalgia. I'm so used to the voice cast. I need to watch more of the Viz dub. I'm almost done Crystal. Big fan of the live action series, and all it's cheesy sentai goodness.

The first Digimon series is very good, but must be watched subbed. The dub turns dark moments that border on cosmic horror into lighthearted comedy and random jokes about pizza. I watched it recently and it was so much better than what I saw as a kid.

I started Sailor Moon but it didn't grab me, planning to get back to it eventually. I didn't see it as a kid so there's no nostalgia there.
