Dont lose that energy when the hate is going the opposite direction. Yes, theres something to be said about power imbalances and oppression, but that argument doesnt change the face value of Cannons comments and shouldnt allow him any leeway in promoting colorism, which he very much is. Its a short skip from white people are less, because of the lack of melanin to, light-skinned black people are less for the same reason. Cannon has all of the resources at his disposal to be smarter than this, and he isnt. Tucker Carlson is a blatant racist, but hes propped up by Fox News, whose entire gimmick is using thinly-veiled racism and hateful rhetoric to spin up viewership. He wont be fired, because Fox doesnt see itself as being capable of being held accountable. Most likely, because Fox has a hard-right viewer base, who dont care or actively participate in the same rhetoric. Tucker, Cannon, and Desean Jackson can all fuck off, honestly. Jackson, at least, has reached out to Jewish leaders and attempted a dialogue to broaden his horizons, I guess. Good on him.
