Former Presidents, Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have said they will take the COVID-19 vaccine LIVE on CAMERA to build public trust in the vaccine's safety as now a poll says 42% of people will NOT take the shot which is worrying as more than 70% of Americans need to be vaccinated to end the virus!!

During an interview on SiriusXM's The Joe Madison Show, Obama says he wants people to know that he trusts the science behind the vaccine and said "I will be taking it and i may take it on TV or have it filmed so people know that i trust this science. What i don't trust is getting COVID"

All 3 are forming an awareness campaign that will promote confidence in the vaccine as Dr. Fauci himself said he will get the vaccine "when it's his turn"

Bush's former chief of staff, Freddy Ford spoke to Fauci and Dr Deborah Birx to see what he could do to promote the vaccine as he said "First, the vaccines need to be deemed safe and administered to the priority populations. Then President Bush will get in line for his and will gladly do so on camera"

Clinton's press secretary said he would "definitely take it as soon as it is available to him based on priorities"

Though surveys, millions of Americans voiced concerns on taking the newly discovered vaccine despite data that says it has a 95% efficacy rate but the use of mRNA is new technology and has never been used before to know the long term effects as americans are skeptical on getting it

Only 48% of NON-WHITES said they would take the vaccine as an overall 37% are concerned with a rusehd timeline and another 26% said they will wait to see the results

Even though healthcare workers are expected to be first to receive the vaccine, even some in that field are wary of doing so

A CDC panel voted 13-1 to give healthcare workers and long term care residents the first ones to get the shots as they are urging those who are most at risk to get the vaccines.

One physician, Dr. Kida Thompson said she has always gotten the yearly flu shot because they are proven safe and effective but said however she is not sure if she will get this vaccine as it took years to get the flu shot out and this process was just 11 months and is skeptical on Operation Warp Speed and thinks they wanted a "quick fix" to a pandemic ravaging the economy.

Some trial participants have noted that taking the shots is no walk in the park as in the first 24-36 hours they have received fever, body aches and headaches

All this tells me is that this is shady as a motherfucker tbh. How about some real proof that its safe? You know... like transparency. How about some real detailed in depth info about the how this was all conducted. The process. Maybe some first hand accounts from people involved (mainly the subjects). Some video footage perhaps. All we have right now is surface level info. This whole theater dog and pony display of politicians allegedly taking the vaccine just tells me that no reasonable human being should trust that this is safe and they know that

I trust the science behind it and plan on getting one.

Why do you wear a seatbelt if you still have to use your brakes?

One (seatbelt and vaccination) protects you in dangerous situations; the other (brakes and masks) make it less likely for you to be put in a dangerous situation in the first place.

The masks are mostly there to protect other people from *your* germs. If you're vaccinated, you shouldn't be able to contract it in the first place let alone transmit it.

I think the issue is they are worried the vaccine will suppress the symptoms but you might still be infectious. As far as I understand vaccines don't stop a virus getting into the body, they just help train the immune system to recognise and fight it it. It doesn't neccesarily stop live virus being transmitted from you to anyone else

Hypothetically, but in practice, you're probably going to be better off just keeping mask mandates in effect until enough people are vaccinated to make them unnecessary. It's annoying for early adopters to basically derive no immediate benefit from their proactivity, but there's really no other way to do it safely.

Having immunity to a pathogen does two things, primarily:

• Increases the body's ability to prevent infection, meaning a larger pathogen load is needed to cause an infection
• Increases the body's ability to fight off an infection that does take root, resulting in less severe, shorter-lived infections

For more "ordinary" illnesses, the first point is usually enough to prevent infection altogether, since you're mostly concerned with the pathogen being picked up in relatively small quantities from the environment, rather than the larger pathogen loads you see from being exposed to infected people. With an ongoing epidemic, it's a lot more likely that you'll be exposed to the pathogen load of an infected person, so the vaccine may not be adequate.

Wearing a mask, however, reduces the pathogen load to which you're exposed (this is why they've been demonstrated to reduce the severity of infections), which can help to keep it below the threshold that your immune system is able to fend off. Even so, it's still possible to be infected, in which case the mask also helps to prevent you from spreading it to others, working in concert with the vaccine making you less infectious to further reduce that risk. We will eventually get to a point where most potential spread will be between vaccinated people and the risk of infection there will be so low as to make masks pointless, but there's still benefit to be derived from wearing a mask even after being vaccinated.

All of this also ignores the cultural and enforcement considerations. It's a lot simpler and safer to enforce "wear a mask" than it is to enforce "wear a mask unless you've been vaccinated already," and telling people to wear masks is a lot more likely to be heeded if most other people are already doing so. If unvaccinated people can look around and see a few dozen people without masks, even if those people are vaccinated and can therefore justify that decision, they're going to be less willing to take the precautions they still need to take.

Except the 70/30 is more the case with N95s, not the kinds of masks most people are wearing. For the masks that 99% of the population is wearing, it's going to be almost exclusively for other peoples' protection. Doubly so in the case of cloth masks.
