I stand by what I posted. Its pretty obvious that PO is plotting and hiding on one of his numerous troll alts. Also dont listen to that SunWuKung poster. I blocked him ages ago because hes nothing more than a gimmick troll and hes still desperate for my attention. Its rather sad tbqh.

given how long PO has been around, he'd have already logged in across multiple devices. this is not only unlikely, but would be very out of PO's character.

God, I hope not. Do you realize how crazy this idea sounds, and how unethical it would be to have a bunch of volunteer moderators having access to users' personal info? Pretty sure gfaqs doesn't ask for anything besides an email anyway, and it's easy to just make shit up for any of the optional info.

Why not? I don't think anyone really plans to spend the rest of their life here, they could leave at any time. Plenty have and most of the time they do it very unceremoniously. PO certainly doesn't seem like the type who would make it a big thing.

When you sign up you give them your email address. Im not talking about turning up to dudes house or blowing up his phone but something like a quick email to say hey havent seen you in a while.

A lot of websites do that actually, but its usually automated. Ive seen it on clothing websites and some consumer info websites - hey we havent seen you in a while how about a discount? But this time it would be, hey you havent logged in in a while, you ok?

He showed a couple pictures in the past. He's not obese levels of fat, I don't think, but definitely overweight, like Kevin Smith before his change to a plant-based diet.

The only thing mods have access to is the information we need to do our jobs, and that doesn't include email addresses.

This is not based on experience with this site, just in general, but someone's personal information they put into those forms are usually encrypted so that no human, even if they have access to the database, can read it. The only thing that would be visible would be a public e-mail address, which obviously everybody can see. Hence why it is an automated e-mail. Furthermore, people leave this site for a variety of reasons and GameFAQs is not in the business of doing welfare checks because someone has decided to not log in for a while.

Really? What about SBAllen? I remember when I won the battle, they tried to send the prize, but my email address was busted. So, I gave him a new one to send it to. But he definitely had access to the one for this site.

He is an admin, not to mention has access to more information then typical admins since he does actual work on the sites code, so he might have access to it. Or he might just have a tool that lets him add/retrieve e-mails when he needs them. Or he was using an automated tool. There are a variety of reasons. Only thing I can say for sure is that a mod (like me) does not have access to see your e-mail address unless you put a public one on your page.

i can't and don't care to speak for po but i think i would be incredibly weirded out if someone emailed me because i didn't log onto a forum for a while

Even if you could email him I don't know what it would accomplish. If something really bad happened, he's not going to see it. If he just decided to leave and he does see it, he'll probably just be mildly annoyed and move on.

It's nice to have some level of basic concern about your fellow man but I don't see why it's really anyone's business what happened to him. As far as I'm concerned when someone is gone, sure I don't hope something really bad happened, but unless I was close friends with them it's kinda no difference to me why they left. I think PO would feel the same way himself, and if there was anyone who he thought needed to know he'd give them the avenue to find out, but he doesn't exactly seem the type interested in making close friends here.

The only picture of PO I remember was his duct tape cosplay that nudo would post. I think he was kinda chubby but not like huge or anything.

The suggestions in this topic are taking a turn from "basic concern" to "creepily stalkerish"

The one picture of PO that I always remember floating around is him looking off to the side while holding a sign that says something about PsychoGamer64. The Kevin Smith comparison is pretty apt. He had glasses, short dark hair, and was about early Kevin Smith weight. Granted, this picture is probably over a decade old at this point, so he could have lost or gained more weight.

Okay, yeah, you guys are being kind of creepy.

Counter to supposition, I don't actually check PotD on multiple devices. I use one device (my laptop), and if that craps out (which it did), I'm not going to bother logging in via anything else to check in, explain, or otherwise demonstrate an addictive inability to live without the site. I mostly only check the site casually when I've got time to kill when I'm multitasking doing something else, so if I don't have the time or easy access, I'm pretty cool not checking in.

Sorry PotD, I'm just not that into you.

Basically, I was busy with holiday stuff, then I was dealing with other stuff (nothing major, just time-consuming... like getting work done on my furnace, cutting down trees on my property, etc), and in the middle of that my laptop decided to be a bitch, so there you go. Add in a lot of things taking more time to deal with during a pandemic, and I haven't really had a chance to deal with the computer side of things until now.

No, I didn't get Covid, no, I didn't stroke out on the toilet like Elvis, no, I wasn't violently murdered by the ghost of Ail seeking revenge, etc.

But yes, probably some day I am going to die of a massive bacon-induced heart attack and just disappear for good, and when that day comes please don't try and track me down in real life, even if you think you're being considerate or concerned or helpful. That's kind of stalkery and just a little bit entitled - and if I'm being honest, 20+ years of paranoia about that sort of thing means I've done a pretty good job making it extremely difficult to track my info down anyway (I'm not even sure if my personal info on GameFAQs is right or not - I did tend to use bogus personal info a lot to hide my tracks back in the day for exactly that sort of reason, and at this point it would be like 18 years out of date anyway).

There's a reason why there's precisely one PotDer in the history of the site I've ever given my actual e-mail address to (feel free to speculate who that might be... and no, it's not Nudo).

Basically. I'm definitely not "thin", but I wouldn't say I'm "fat", either. Kevin Smith's not a bad comparison (at least early Kevin Smith - I'm definitely not later-stage "stoner munchies fat" Kevin Smith, nor current "health scare vegan" Kevin Smith). Though he also used to look worse than he really was anyway, because he always wears kind of baggy clothes.

The thing to keep in mind though is that Kevin Smith is like 5'8" and I'm 6'3", so I wear the weight differently. And at least some of it is muscle (though my cardio has admittedly kind of gone to shit in the last year or so). Imagine Richard Moll in one of his roles in the 90s when he had hair, and add about 20-30 pounds or so, and you'd be pretty close.

I've basically got dad bod. Which isn't surprising considering I'm a guy in my mid-40s. And like most guys in long-term committed relationships, I don't really have to try and stay in great shape in the hopes of landing a partner. Once you've got the fish on the hook, you don't really need to keep the lure shiny.
