A.) They wouldnt win anyway

B.) The outrage will make more people amenable to expansion

I'm leaning toward this at this point. Top 4 seeds host 'pods' of four teams for the first two rounds, then semi-final & final are neutral like they are now. Then no one can complain about being left out and we'd get some great games.

Well the absolute *most* games a team would play (assuming a 12-game schedule & conference championship game) is 17, and that'd be only 2 teams. The championship game teams generally play 15 now anyway.

I could see them feeding Oregon to Georgia. Sure isn't going to be OSU!

Whoever wins the big ten is getting in no matter what, and Georgia and Alabama are getting in no matter what.

If Oregon drops a game. Oklahoma will magically leapfrog Cincinnati at the last moment to take #4 (despite already being 3 ranks below them before losing to Baylor). If Oregon and Oklahoma drop another game, that's when they'll run out of excuses to keep Cincinnati out.

I don't agree with this assessment. OU has a very back-ended schedule - it's possible for them to lose one game but still impress in their remaining games enough to leap forward a bit, although they CERTAINLY don't control their own destiny now. They're not eliminated, though. It's really important to understand that the CFP only judges a team based on their CURRENT RESUME, and Oklahoma's SOS was just weaker than Cincinnati's up until this exact point since Cincinnati had that win over Notre Dame.
