I have meant to look into getting a nice hand crossbow... Definitely sucks how the laws for self-defense are so stacked in favor of gun owners, though. Someone attacks you or invades your home and you unload multiple rounds and straight up kill him? A-Ok! Someone does that, you down him w/ a bludgeoning weapon and strike a few more times to be sure he ain't getting back up before the police arrive (for example, break his leg), all of a sudden it's "excessive force" even though it wasn't lethal. However, I also know safety optics and would want a low penetration charge since if I had to shoot an intruder I wouldn't want the shot to go through the walls into my neighbours.
