Which one?

https://news.yahoo.com/71-percent-don-t-want-163328294.html

A Harvard CAPSHarris Poll survey shared exclusively with The Hill found that 71 percent of respondents polled do not think Biden should run for a second term, compared to 29 percent who say he should run.

President Biden may want to run again but the voters say no to the idea of a second term, panning the job he is doing as president. Only 30 percent of Democrats would even vote for him in a Democratic presidential primary, Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPSHarris Poll survey, said.

But a majority of respondents 61 percent also say former President Trump should not run for the White House in 2024. Thirty-nine percent of respondents said the former president should run again.

Comes on the heels of a recent poll that found more Americans would vote for Trump than Biden.

https://news.yahoo.com/poll-biden-disapproval-hits-new-high-as-more-americans-say-they-would-vote-for-trump-090021657.html

The survey of 1,541 U.S. adults, which was conducted from June 10-13, found that if another presidential election were held today, more registered voters say they would cast ballots for Donald Trump (44%) than for Biden (42%) even though the House Jan. 6 committee has spent the last week linking Trump to what it called a seditious conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election and laying the groundwork for possible criminal prosecution.

Poll question: Who would you less want to see run?

Scary how people are trying to delegitimize SCOTUS, possibly to justify removing the court to put in a Biden-friendly replacement.

I literally had a nightmare that Trump became president again last night.
It's depressing how seriously I am considering to leave America cause it's a lazy, racist pit of honkeys. I believe in the American dream and defending freedom, but it's clearly an ideal and not this place.
Do Americans think about this? I'm a hard working, responsible and nice person and I think that means the USA is not for me. There's good people everywhere but they don't seem to be coming to America. I try to make better where I am at but it doesn't seem like it's worth it in America.
Here's to hoping I'm just being dramatic.

It's what happens when a culture prioritizes sensationalized bullshit over intelligence or integrity.

Too many fucking people treat their democratic duty to vote the same way they treat picking a sports team to root for. People are seemingly getting dumber (or, at very least, are more easily falling for misinformation), which is making defending the institution of democracy more and more of a tough sell.

This SCOTUS has stripped away a couple of critical human rights already and laid out an explicit agenda of further rights on the chopping block. They've deligitimized themselves just fine all on their own. A Biden-friendly replacement is irrelevant. I just want to see something human-friendly (also known as "doing their goddamn jobs").

I'd wager DeSantis will be up next. Trump will run, but I don't think he'll get the part nomination. The dems don't really have anyone worth a damn to run. They've exiled every moderate they had. There's rumors they're considering AOC, lol! It's like they're begging to get their ass kicked in the next election.

There, I voted for Trump, (in this poll) are you happy?

Biden has been hamstrung from the beginning, the recovery could have been well under way but the narrative that a country spending trillions of dollars in this day and age of billionaires, is somehow bad, has left him facing a minority rule over the will of the populace and his agenda.

Yes and yes! Too bad Americans are to dumb to realize a two party system isn't working anymore.

The problem isn't that Americans are too dumb to realize that. Lots of people have realized that.

The problem is that the system itself is so entrenched it makes it nearly impossible to fight against. Potential "third-party" options are diffused to the point of having no realistic chance most of the time. The Internet makes it far more possible for grass-roots alternatives to build a strong support base (moreso than any other point in the last 150+ years), but there will always be too many candidates pulling in too many different directions, weakening any potential counter-movement. It's why parties like the Green Party and the Libertarians have always been more spoilers for the main parties than people with any real chance in hell of winning on their own.

It's also why most people who grow disillusioned with the system don't start voting for third-party alternatives to try and push for change, but instead stop voting entirely. Because once you start paying attention it becomes very obvious how worthless your vote really is.

And the only way to reform the system to make it easier for alternatives to have a chance would require the active participation of the two parties to undermine their own power-base. So it's almost certainly never going to change.

The other problem is that tons of people (especially in the age of curated social media and politically-aligned news channels) basically pick a political party and then root for "their side" the same way fanatic sports fans root for "their team". "The other team" does terrible things, but "our side" does what needs to be done. "The other team" is evil, unprincipled, and manipulative, "our side" is idealistic and try to do what's best for the country. "The other team" abuses the system and takes away our freedoms for their own selfish reasons, but "our team" does what they need to do to get the job done and only sacrifice freedoms when necessary to make things better. "The other team" does terrible things because they're bad people, "our side" occasionally makes mistakes because they're only human. When "the other team" does something wrong, they're obviously acting out of malice, when "our side" does something wrong, it's probably an accident or based on flawed information or because "those dastardly other guys" backed them into a corner and what other choice did "we" have?

Keep thinking that way long enough, and you become almost blind to anything other than the narrative you've already convinced yourself of. You have your villains, you have your heroes, and the fantasy world you're living in only bares the vaguest resemblance to actual reality. It's easy to hate entire groups of people when you've abstracted them to the most simplistic assumptions and make absolutely no effort to ever understand their point of view.

If you find yourself frequently saying "The Republicans do this" or "The Democrats are bad because" in political discussions, you are part of that problem. Because you've been programmed to see one party as "THE ENEMY" (and thus support the other party), which is exactly what both parties want you to do. Because when you're blaming one party over the other, you're not blaming politicians in general, or the system as a whole. Because if you were, you might try to actually fix it (and put them out of a job).

But when you can blame everything wrong on "The Democrats" or "The Republicans", then both parties can keep you distracted, at odds with your fellow citizens, and effectively powerless.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

The issue has nothing to do with Americans' lack of intelligence, its that a democratic system that runs on first-past-the-post (as the US's does) naturally favours two dominant political parties, because a third invariably saps strength from its closest ideological allies and thereby strengthens ideological opponents. Anyone who is old enough to remember the Ralph Nader or Ross Perot campaigns in the US can tell you all about this (the former was a Green Party candidate who likely cost Al Gore the presidency over George W. Bush; the former was the most successful third party candidate in the history of the country, receiving nearly 20% of the vote, and was at least partially responsible for George Bush Sr.'s dismal showing that election).

Accordingly, most third party movements collapse quickly, because its supporters realize they are simply making it easier for those political parties they disagree with most to get elected.

I dont view age as a disqualification. Bernie Sanders had a pretty moderate and reasonable platform. It was sad watching him run and lose after his heart attack.

its probably for the best he didnt win so we can get a young charismatic moderate or progressive in office though.

that said I am enjoying the Biden comedy show and rotfl at people attempting to paint him far left lol.

They successfully sank Obamas agenda by painting him Uber far left because his skin color but it is much harder to do that to a white moderate lol.
