Pippitos can be farmed for Coins, but it's a 1/40 drop chance or something stupid like that.

What do you use Silver Coins on to prevent them from maxing out? I feel like it's worth it to use them for the cheaper collectopedia options (like the 1-3 coin ones).

cards and maybe I unlocked a new class but didn't finish getting it to rank 10 at the time I would quickly finish it off with coins sometimes and move on to the next class

I ended up getting every class to rank 10 with everyone, but only 20 to a handful of them based on my needs for my final party build

It sounds like the Patch Notes claim it is but no one - including me when I did a sweep of all the Gogol types I'm aware of - can still find the thing. As far as I can tell both from my own investigation as well as seeing what others have said, all that actually happened was the Gogol that dropped Olippe now drops Vuaga. So in effect, they traded one unobtainable (Vuaga) for another (Olippe) and Dalm is just straight unobtainable both pre and post-patch.

I'm personally still in Chapter 7 so it's theoretically possible there are more types I don't have access to but I feel like someone would have found the thing by now if so.

Actually you can grind them to level 20 pretty fast with *end game spoilers* those giant enemies in Origin. This method is for post-game though, since you get the ability to level down. All you need is Noah with an Art or Accessory which starts him with Master Art at 100%, pull Unlimited Blade, then spam the b button Art to instant kill (sometimes it takes longer than usual but is still very quick) those enemies with Doom. The only downside is Noah has to be an attacker class for the Doom status to initiate reliably. I simply maxed out everyone's classes, levelled down Noah to level 1, used the 40%cp boost in cooking and the Monastic Necklace accessory to level up his classes very very quickly. It doesn't take nearly as long as I initially thought Class maxing would take.

After a character other than Noah has maxed all their classes, you can change them to a Lv99 character that stacks attack and crit, has a Gust Bracelet and uses pre-charged Raging Force to OHKO the enemies. This is actually even faster than using Doom.

It only took me a few hours and this was before they fixed cooking so it should be even faster now.

Farming X Gems takes a lot longer. It feels like it takes 1-2 hours per Gem even with cooking. Apparently getting the materials for Steel Protection X is particularly bad but I got lucky and bought that one with coins even before I knew how bad it was.

Beat all the Super Bosses and hacked all Souls. The Super Bosses are even easier than the previous games because you can just do ridiculous amounts of damage with the right party set up.

Only X Gems grinding left and boy is it a grind.

I'm still farming for Gem materials. So for here are the UMs I found to be uncooperative when farming for materials via Burst spam

Diabolical Rindolph - The platform he spawns on sucks. The drops keep falling off the edge or deactivate the topple

Naval Gyrus - Rarely drops common Glistening Krodlax Scale. The recommended alternate source are enemies near Vinisog Holm Camp. But to be honest, that was kind of a lousy source as well.

Sharpwitted Tracy - Rarely drops Legendary Mild Camill Powder. I went burst farming on Elite Sodorio Camill near Predator's Paw Landmark instead.

Gracious Titania - Literally refused to drop common Arachno Queen Egg. I fought the Arachno Queens in the same area instead. Before going in I had like 25 common Arachno Queen Egg but had no idea where they were from.

Indiscreet Gombaba - Rarely drops Legendary Golden Brog Oil. But I couldn't find a better source so I stuck with it. Farming for Tailwind X kinda sucks in general. So far it seems like a good coin target if you have 99 to spend.

Craven Piggard - Rarely drops Legendary Sweet Kapiba Lard. But, I couldn't find a better source either.

In general, farming common level drops from high level UMs or legendary level drops for low level UMs is kind of a pain due to low drop rate.

If anyone gets around to farming Raucous Ron for Legendary Pale Skeeter Wing, can you tell me if it feels like it drops them more often when above 50% HP. I'm probably just seeing things that aren't there but sometimes it feels like drop rates change when an enemy is above or below 50% HP.

There is no point actually but I just took it upon myself to be a completionist in these games.

It is really testing my willpower though because I don't even have any incentive to use some of those gems and I'm done with pretty much everything else in the game.

If you don't need the Gems, there's no reason to grind for them. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the DLC added some way to make getting the Gems easier somewhere down the line.

Finally got my last X Gem. One thing I wish I figured out earlier was it is worth rerolling low level UMs to find a shiny one before farming it for Legendary level drops. It makes a big difference in drop rate. It is less useful for higher level ones since they drop the material often enough. And it goes without saying that if you are looking for a Common level drop, it is a bad idea to fight a shiny UM.

Finally beat it! Clocked in at around 132 hours. Game is huge and there's still a ton of stuff for me to do postgame.

Opinions: Overall I feel pretty comfortable saying 3 > 1 > 2 as full packages, though gameplay goes 3 > 2 > 1 and even though I have 3 on top for the full package there are parts where it falls way short of the other two. The plot kind of just fizzles after the start of chapter 6 and the story being almost totally bereft of big surprises really hurts it.
