If I see previews of the main characters and I like them, yes. If I don't like them, no. It's the same with movies. I like likeable leads.

The only time I really broke this rule was playing God of War 1 2 and 3. I played and platinum'd them. But I can't stand Kratos. I also didn't like Allegretto from Eternal Sonata or Noel Kriss from FF13-2. But in those cases I didn't know from looking at the previews.

After 4 and 5, nope. If I get it, I'll do like I did with 5 and wait forever for it to be cheap used and get it then. 4 was super boring with horrid driving and 5 was a decent game that they stripped all of the fun shit out of, to sell people on playing online. I don't expect any different from 6.

No. With all the gun violence in the US this type of game has lost its luster for me a little bit.

I loved GTA V, so yeah; if GTA VI were released on PC and eventually had a 66-75% off sale, then I'd probably have to snap it up.

More like a year or two later purchase.

conservative talking point

i get why you personally wouldnt want to play a game where the fun comes from mowing down civilians in todays climate but the idea that video games cause violence or whatever is fuckin lame. i know that isnt necessarily what youre saying but still

4 was excellent. I would call it the best game of it's time.

5 was a decent game, objectively a really good game but disappointing as I knew they could have done a lot better. Still played it a bunch.

I'll waot for reviews or at least in-depth previews on 6 but I'll definitely buy close to launch if they don't screw it up badly. Has it even been announced yet? With Rockstar's release schedule I'd be surprised to see it out before 2024 or 2025.

I'll probably get it eventually, but not a must buy, not without more information, and even then I'm not particularly sure what this game is going to do that others in the series haven't done before, or other developers have done before.

I haven't felt "wowed" by the idea of a GTA since San Andreas, honestly. Not that the others that followed didn't have something to offer that was neat, but the evolution never hit me the same after the PS2 era. I wonder if that's just because video games went mainstream and now there is a lot on the market to scratch different itches, or if GTA has pretty much run its course development wise.

I played like an hour of gtav's story and was not impressed. Seemed like no flying missions or the missions were very similar and simple. Do they get a lot more complex after the first hour?

The missions themselves were fun, the game is built around 5 or 6 major heists that you have to assemble a group for, prepare for and then pull off.

but everything in between that is just a bunch of smaller side quests. I just liked the general vibe of the game, the music, the characters, the polished feel that it has.

Yes. I think, I never played the first hour.

Buddy got frustrated on his skydiving training and passed me the controller, executed a perfect HALO onto a small flatbed that was the target site. Asked me to preform a physical impossibility as I handed him back the controller.

If CJ was in it, I'd have pre-ordered that shit. I just remember some balding and middle aged dudes that looked homeless. Like... I wanna be cool... I don't wanna be a rando..

I had CJ lean and built wearing a tux ready for business, baby.

Yes definitely, even though itll suffer the same fate as GTA 5 for me where I play the hell out of it for a month or so, only getting about a third of the way into the story and never touch it again.

Unless the story is super duper compelling and/or the gameplay mechanics are super on point I wont play it for very long. Open world games are all very samey nowadays, nothing really different about anything theyre doing anymore

I unironically want a game where you shoot people but also the weight of killing that person is real, like you don't soak up 30000 bullets through the game, you are not a walking tank, one bullet is enough to kill, and you need to retreat and heavily consider your options.

So throughout the game you kill maybe 3 people. The one man genocide is pretty ridiculous. Every encounter directly is a 50/50 otherwise like it is irl.

It really is.

I was showing my buddy the cheat codes for GTAV, took Trevor downtown to the bridge over the highway, walked to the middle, pulled out the grenade launcher and blocked off either end so I could have some space to work, fired a missile at the encircling blimp which took out the arriving helicopters, switched back to the grenade launcher to take out the arriving cop cars until out of ammo, hopping the bridge down on to the highway where I hijacked a car and drove out into the desert (how did I manage that....) where I successfully evaded patrols (they have to fix the ai on the helicopters, I should not be able to loose them like that) then I showed him Moon gravity by defenistrating myself when I clipped a fence post and flew through a gas station over on the PCH analog.
