Idk I think Skullgirls is neat. Mechanically the game hasnt clicked with me yet but my wife likes playing Squiggly for the stance canceling mechanic.

I played the demo/trial on PS3 years ago.

I really liked how in-depth the tutorial was. I'm usually no bueno at traditional fighting games

This, only Steam instead of PS3. It seemed like a very well-made, accessible fighting game, as far as I could tell, but I never got into it because traditional fighters have never really clicked with me and I'm terrible at them.

Honestly despite the drama with some of the original devs, seeing the game still going so long after release is pretty wild.
