Just looked up the movie and found out its a two parter. Why does Hollywood always have to drag out movies in the hopes of more money? It doesn't even always work, look at the Fantastic Beast movies, they cancelled the later ones because of it.

In some instances it can make sense, but this is literally an adaptation of a stage musical. They're releasing the first act then waiting a year to release the second.

The rest of the movie's pretty eh, but I quite liked the climax of Oz the Great and Powerful (the 2013 movie with James Franco) for this reason. IIRC the Wicked Witch and her sister strongly suspect that he's a fraud, but his grand theatrics are so convincing that it punks the WW into fleeing.
