What's the oldest game you bought the day it came out?

of what I remember, Pokemon Ruby.

Pokmon Diamond and Pearl. Both of them because I am a freak.

I believe it was Pokmon Red.

Tried to get Link's Awakening at launch but it didn't come to the shops in my little town for a few weeks after release.

As in I bought it, it wasn't a gift?

Perfect Dark. I remember checking a countdown website that had weekly updates on game features and stuff.

Halo 2

Like on launch day? I think the first was Final Fantasy VII.

Before that I know I bought Resident Evil 1 very shortly after launch, within the first couple of weeks.

The NES was my first console but I didnt really care all that much about getting a game on day 1 until MGS4.

I think it was FF7 on PC because I didnt have a PS1 at the time and it was the first FF the PAL regions got.

Launch day it would have been Final Fantasy VII.

Before that I always had to wait for birthdays or Christmas to get games so I never had anything the day it came out. Closest I would have had is Chrono Trigger since it came out only a few weeks before my birthday.

Probably Donkey Kong Country? My parents may have got me SMB3 when it came out as well. I do remember FFVIII being the first game I ever preordered and paid off before launch day at a Babbage's.

I have no idea probably Sonic 2 even though I was gaming long long before that.

I'm old enough to remember when buying a game on launch day wasn't a thing, because nobody knew when a game was coming out.

That only started in the 90s.

I don't think I've ever bought a game launch day outside of small indie games, as a kid i usually got games as gifts and when i started making my own money, i usually got games later when they were on sale.

I think the only game I ever got the day it came out was Pokemon Y...which doesn't say much about my age!

Day it came out? Probably one of the Smackdown games in the early 2000s, most likely SYM because I didnt have a PS2 when JBI came out. Those were the only games I would wait for every year and I would ask my mom to get it for me while I was at school so that she had it when she picked me up. I think she got me GTA San Andreas like that too but those are really the only games I begged for day-of. I would even bargain with her and be like look, I saved up $20 in change and that covers almost half, so it doesnt cost as much as you think!

I think the first thing I bought with my own money and on launch day was a Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure. Games usually come out on like a Tuesday and my mom was NOT driving me anywhere after work.

I remember pre-ordering Final Fantasy 8 online, but it took over a week before I got it.

I'm pretty sure the first game I recall buying as an adult was Wind Waker.

I think it might have been Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. And that was on a whim on the day I think.

I never bought games on launch day prior to then. Closest might have been GTA:SA but that was sold out everywhere so I had to wait a week.

No idea, tbh. I remember getting Mega Man Battle Network 2 on release day, but I probably got other games on release before then.

Oh wait, I bought Vice City day one.

StarCraft 2 is the oldest game I can think of that I know for a fact I bought on launch day as I went to the midnight release.

I know I pre-ordered Oblivion but I cant remember if we picked it up on launch day or that.

I know I bought games before that near launch, but I dont know about at launch.
