It is very close to impossible, but it is at least possible. Walruses exist in some parts of the world! But seeing a fairy at the door would, like, confirm that magic is real. The walrus is physically larger and could actually pose a danger to you when it's so close. The implications for the fairy might take a moment to soak in, but the implications are definitely more surprising. If I wanted to see a walrus I would likely need to drive at least 4-5 hours to get to the nearest zoo/aquarium with one.
