I can have two separate days in a year where I feel miserable, but I get to schedule those days, or I can take my chances with a miserable (and potentially lethal) virus.

Normally, I feel fatigued the next day. This time, I started feeling fatigued late last night. I legitimately forgot the name of my elementary school. I noticed a delay in my speech, so I readily tested myself. I got my date of birth instantly, but I gave the name of my high school rather than my elementary school. At least today I can remember my schooling. I can also talk without a delay.

I don't mean to scare anyone away from getting vaccinated, because it is vitally important, but this really sucks. It's nearly 4:00 PM and I've been awake maybe two to three hours today in total.

Ugh. Fuck this. I'm still fatigued.

I wonder if I happened to be exposed to COVID just before getting my booster. I work at a hospital, so COVID patients are a frequent thing. I still have a sense of smell though.

I got my COVID booster and a flu shot just before the holidays. I'd done OK with all my other COVID shots but the last one knocked me out for a day.

Yes, because unlike you, they understand basic medicine like how vaccines and boosters work.

3 booster got me messed up for 3 days. None of the other shots did that. Even the booster I got after I got COVID.

Telling someone actively displaying they dont understand vaccines that they dont understand vaccines isnt ad hominem. There was no actual point being made for me to ignore in favor of a personal attack. I responded directly to what was said. Thank you for displaying you dont understand what ad hominem means.

Isn't losing your sense of smell only a symptom in some "small" portion of the sick though? I want to say it was like 10-20% iirc

It quite literally isnt. You didnt have to double down and make yourself look silly.

This fallacy occurs when, instead of addressing someone's argument or position, you irrelevantly attack the person or some aspect of the person who is making the argument. Note the words instead of. And someones argument or position.

There was no argument or position to address. They literally just feigned ignorance of how vaccines work, with no actual point, which I then pointed out was ignorance.

Similarly, if you address someones position or argument AND insult them? Still not ad hominem. Because then it isnt INSTEAD OF. Every insult is not ad hominem. You just dont know what the term means.

finally: saying someone does not know a thing they are actively demonstrating they dont know isnt an insult. Please learn what words mean.

Not getting it even though I got the initial three shots. The Dutch CDC advises against everyone getting it and its really just for:
  • pregnant people
  • people in a high risk group with doctors referral
  • people with a special doctors referral

I never had any type of reaction at all to any of the Covid shots. It was like I never even got them. However Im in the age group where my doctor recommended a shingles vaccine that Ive never had before and I guess exists now so I got that and the next 2 days could barely move my arm and felt like I had been hit with a sledgehammer.

Its always a dice roll how these things impact us. Sometimes not at all, sometimes quite a bit.

Technically, the CDC only recommends that every adult get at least one updated vaccine:
Everyone aged 5 years and older should get 1 dose of an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against serious illness from COVID-19.
People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised may get additional doses of updated COVID-19 vaccine.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html

If you're not immunocompromised, the CDC makes no hard recommendation for you to get a booster.

It's not 2021 anymore. Health measures have changed and I'll continue listening to the experts and trusting the science.

lol. Lmao, even. It's truly fascinating to see how covidiocy has mutated to survive with almost the same frequency and efficiency as Covid itself.

I won't say that I'm not tired, but I think I'm over the post-shot tiredness. I was able to get by today at work just fine. Of course, it was business enough that I didn't really have time to reflect on how I felt.

Well, I lost my sense of smell when I caught it a few years ago. I ran three smell tests and failed all of them. That's when I knew that I had it.

So, I was in whatever percentile it was that lost their sense of smell. And I'm not eager to catch any other strains.
