Yeah, I think overall this game has been extraordinarily F2P friendly. Ive only been playing 6 months and I havent really challenged the highest levels of MoC yet, all other content is very doable.

I have been relatively lucky on my 50/50s, but even if that wasnt the case I think Id still be in roughly the same spot.

So is there something I'm missing with these Sam fights in MoC? Are these possible with only 1 sustain? I mean I can still clear it fast enough with 2 sustains so I'm not sure how much it matters, but it's a lot closer than it feels like it needs to be. I'm also still pretty close to dying even with 2 sustains.

Shields are basically useless in that fight. It should either be a very solid Abundance or FX (even FX can get in trouble). If you only have 4 star healers you may need to run double Abundance.

Gallagher is good there, nothing beats Luocha of course.

Meanwhile I was thinking "abundance is useless here; maybe it's just because I never managed to snag Gepard" (I should say I don't have Luocha or Huohuo and Bailu is at level 20)

The burn damage literally penetrates though shields lol.

I went in there Gepard and everyone left with a fat 3k shield stack and health in the triple digits.

My Huohuo tanks that fight solo BUT need some timely ults on the team to proc her Talent

Definitely need cleanses.

The Japanese version has Acheron/Yomi recite a tanka here, a form of poetry you can think of as a haiku with two extra 7-syllable lines at the end. I thought it was really cool, and didn't feel like the English quite hit the same literary note, as it were. So I'd like to share my own translation (doing 3-5-3-5-5 syllables because I think that "feels" more like a tanka "feels" in JP):

Rain of tears
Falling and swelling
The Sanzu
Barred from Yomi, to
Tokoyo return

Alternatively, using Greek equivalents to the Shinto aspects (since they did the same renaming Yomi to Acheron):

Finished the 2.1 story quests. Very talky, but it was all mostly good.

I have finished the Va11 Hall-A event, and I am extremely confident that Siobhan is going to be a 4* unit in the future somewhere in 2.x.

I think she's going to join Jeht from Genshin in the "NPC with accidental 4* level character design" purgatory

Theres still hope for Jeht one day

FUA team looks like so much fun. I just have zero investment into it, and barely have any of them. Just Ratio and Clara.

It's definitely a high investment team. Without a dedicated debuffer you need Topaz at E1 and/or S1 or else it gets a little unreliable.

Also 0% chance I ever pull for Robin if you can't put her on mute.

New Pure Fiction lets Acheron build her ult passively lmao. And one side is lightning weak.

The other is ice... Hmm.....

she's still awesome, only way i see to say no to this is if you already have two 5* limited sustains already

She's still the best in slot, with Huo Huo imo. The rest of the roster is getting so focused that having a sustain only be a sustain actually kinda feels like a waste. I'm mainly saying this because Luocha has a banner going right now. Yeah, he's really nice to have, because you're probably gonna survive with him on the team, but if you're reaching the endgame and trying to full-clear MoC and PF, that's a slot that is getting used up only to stay alive and maybe remove buffs.

Fu's crit rate passive doesn't seem like much, but it's deceptively important, and she's just as good at keeping the team alive as Luocha is, at the measly cost of 1 SP every 3 turns.

Finally got to take Acheron for a test drive in PF and damn she is fun.

Also what site do people use for relic ratings? I need to do some reassessment of a few units.

I think Luocha's value is that he doesn't really have to use SP so if you use a really hungry team like with Daniel or something he's the ideal healer. Also sustain with an offensive ult is pretty good especially in Pure Fiction. Huohuo by comparison is SP neutral if you need full healing uptime, also her energy rotation is kinda weird without good light cones but whatever.

Then again judging by his story trial, Aventurine looks like he'll be a 0SP full uptime shielder that brings damage and crit buff and at least some CC resist so maybe Luocha is just washed.

I would not be surprised if we see more enemies like Sam in the future who have ways to ignore shields, so I imagine he'll always have a use even if Aventurine ends up more "meta".

So far Preservarion Stelle has been tanking for Acheron in MoC12 and PF just fine! Acheron nukes before it gets out of hand. Didn't use her on the Sam side though.

Well Huohuo cleans that fight up too. I imagine if there's ever a boss where a buff dispel is extremely useful he'll come out on top. But as it is now I always forget that's even a thing on him and Pela. I bet it's pretty ok on IPC Team Leader and Sanctus Medicus but not a huge time saver

What are the next couple upcoming banners we know about?

2.2 is Robin and Boothill. Reruns will presumably be Fu Xuan and Topaz.

2.3 is probably Sam and Jade. Huohuo or Argenti likely rerun there, maybe both.

Beyond that its hard to say.

It's worth adding that instead of a new 4* we're getting a new Trailblazer form in 2.2 as well - Imaginary Harmony. Interesting to see how that turns out since there's a lot of strong competition for that role!

Technically speaking, Tingyun was a "new" 4* in 1.0.

PF almost convinced me to build Serval but honestly ER rope + Solitary Healing Kafka seems to do the job well enough.

Idk what to do with the first half though, my Herta build doesn't seem strong enough to solo. I'm also not sure which of the buffs is the best?

Yeah I am not sure which buff to use on the non Acheron team.

Oh, lol, I just realized I could also use that set for Critka I ever want to run her with Acheron. More valuable than I thought!

I've been refusing to build Herta, but maybe I should... Now with World 9 giving e6

World 9 in general is also giving out her new BiS Planar for Pure Fiction (which is really the only time you'd use her), so if you're farming it anyways then may as well if you luck out with the drops.

Certainly nobody else I'm gonna use that set on.....maaaaybe Himeko depending on the subs.

Herta and Argenti seems like it'd be ideal, but it's hard to effectively hit the Physical weakness otherwise. I tried it with Clara but the PF buffs don't suit her and she's just too slow with her damage output. I ended up getting 3 stars by scraping 24k on the first half with Herta, Jingliu, Pela and Bronya and then full clearing the second half with an Acheron, Black Swan, Kafka and Ruan Mei comp.

I've only recently started appreciating Black Swan's versatility outside of DoT Teams. The defense shred is just very good, she's basically a super Pela.

I briefly considered building Phys Trailblazer for Physical but that can't be good lol

Looking at my build I forgot Herta was on Atk boots, which only works with Himeko around for triggers so I can switch those and maybe put on ER rope. And then just focus on making the other side better and giving them Ruan Mei.

Also I don't have Acheron, does using her ult count 3 times for the PF buff since you hit the button 3 times?

For Acheron I use the one that gives an enemy a debuff when they attack. It's an Acheron charge for every enemy action.
