Wanglicious 04/03/24 11:26:33 PM #58:	Sonic 3 & Knuckles Sonic 2 Mortal Kombat Phantasy Star IV since there's no limit on Sonic games then really it's both 2 and 3&K. 2 was the breakout game and 3&K ended being able to add someone entirely new who people had wanted in a unique way that he became a star of the series on his own. MK and Phantasy Star 4 are kinda tossups. ultimately went with Mortal Kombat over others like Ecco because it was part of the big push that made Sega "cool" and "mature" because it had red blood as opposed to the green blood seen on Nintendo. sure Nintendo ended up fixing this by MK2 but that was a big deal at the time, even if Sega ultimately squandered this advantage. You could know basically nothing about the Genesis, and you'd still know it had the Real MK experience. It cannot be understated how important that was at the time. Bring back Ecco the Dolphin, Sega.
