yeah unfortunately I don't think there's any other way the SYG laws would be interpreted unless there's security video of the whole incident. cell phone videos are too unreliable because they pretty much all start after something has already happened

Stand Your Ground laws are illegitimate and we need to stop pretending these laws make any rational sense when we know they are designed to allow racists to shoot people they don't like - as was the precis case with Rittenhouse.

Dude probably thought he could make a change. That maybe he could teach Kyle to do something constructive with his life. There was a lot of show but the scholarship wasn't part of it. They wouldn't get that kind of benefit just for a personality. There was a genuine attempt to help this kid not be a raging asshole.

Probably still acquitted, given the actual events which occurred.

From what I recall the Judge forbid them from showing the videos where Rittenhouse was recorded saying "I wish I had my gun with me so I could shoot looters"

The defense had it hard on that trial though, because even though it seems obvious that Rittenhouse was a vigilante looking for an excuse to shoot people "in self defense", proving that is really fucking hard, and what evidence they did have got blocked by the judge, because if they couldn't prove his motive invalidated self defense, he had pretty clear shut execution of self defense from the video evidence.

Although the prosecution really should have been able to argue against the evidence being excluded better. The Judge was like "I don't see how this evidence is relevant" and the prosecution is just like "Well I guess that's that."

To be fair, they presented the evidence, the judge ruled to exclude it, and they... Didn't really have an avenue, beyond that. Once a judge rules "No" to certain evidence, you have nobody else to appeal to, you have to wait to appeal the entire case.

His crying on the stand made me irate. Especially after all his photo ops. I would love to see him go toe to toe with any amateur MMA fighter. This fuck doesnt feel bad about anything he did when seeking blood. Hes also a woman beater and a complete coward. He wouldnt dare fight someone fairly.

The objective of the pictures would be to use as evidence that Kyle directly provoked Rosenbaum into chasing after him. I am interested in seeing how this new information fits in the timeline of events as that would flip the narrative and perception of Rosenbaum to say the least if the objective was met.

Shittenhouse went looking for people to kill and his mother drove him across state lines to do just that under the tissue paper thin guise of protecting businesses from looting. Theres ample evidence of this fucker punching women and wanting to kill people with his guns.

If only he cared to reveal this when it really mattered.

IIRC, the judge's phone rang during the trial and his ringtone was the song Trump was using at the time to play him on stage.

Like a week or 2 before Kenosha Alex Jones told his audience to go to blm protests and aggregate protestors in order to fish for a self defense situation so that they could shoot people.

it affects the "reasonable doubt" aspect of voting guilty/not guilty. Someone indicating that they want something to happen would likely be perceived to be less likely to have been forced into the situation "requiring" them to do that exact thing

At the very least it throws a wrench in the narrative that he was a good guy with solely good intentions - which a lot of his fans seem to want to push. It shows that the idea of playing a vigilante had been on his mind before, even if that meant shooting people.

Whether that's enough to make a difference in his claims to self defense is a different story. Ideally that should've been a jury decision, not dismissed beforehand by the judge.

If you intentionally put yourself in harms way just so you can kill people, that's not self defense.
