I know the name of the site is Gamefaqs but who the fuck wants to talk about nothing but video games all the time? Everyone who uses the boards are adults who may want to occasionally have conversations that aren't completely vapid.

Teens (13+)/young adult's (18-20) seem to be the target audience these days. With how anti- they are, it's no surprise Fandom and other places are sanitizing sites. "Think of the children" has always been an easy way to change things. Look, I'm going to level with you here - I've had discussions with the age category they're aiming for on this site, and it's never been a pleasant experience.
Just the other night, I had two twenty somethings shrieking at me on the Switch board for saying I didn't want to be play the XBC3 DLC because it's a prequel, and I don't often care to play prequel games unless they're full stand alone titles.

The fact that *anyone* thinks these kids need protecting boggles the belief. If anything, we need some form of protection from them - They can can get downright vicious if you don't like the thing they like as much as they do.

As a kid I thought our generation was going to be more progressive about nudity and sex but in some ways we seem worse than when we're growing up.

This just proves they want to close any non gaming message board.

It does feel that after all the stories of sexual abuse and exploitation a good chunk of pepole are regressing to pre 1950's culture norms in some ways of now making it like seeing any sexuality as offensive....in the sense that sex is starting to be something pushed out of site. Just look at how desexualized so many movies and shows are now...we are at the point where even a little sexualization is seen as abuse so it feels like anything that's not a porn movie/ show about sex has become sexless because any thing that even hints at" power imbalance" makes a lot think that product should be canceled.

I mean seriously....just look at how sterile the majority of shows and movies these days are with that kind of stuff...many are afraid to even have romance at this point.

I mean look at how the last James bond movie was with how much they made Bond afraid or embarrassed to even give off the impression he was flirting with the woman spy in the midpoint or other stuff in movies.
