My Score 9.3 - One of my favorite games on the PS1 and also one the best stories to date mixed with horrible translation and script. Otherwise perfect. Would love a remake just as much as FF7.
What? It's bad. It's probably the second worst RPG I've played, the worst being Beyond the Beyond.
Man, I can understand if you didn't like the game. But Legend of Dragoon is anything but the second worst RPG (unless you've played very few RPGs maybe).
There are a TON of RPGs worse than LoD even if I look at it from an extremely critical point of view
I've played somewhere between 50 and 100 RPGs. Legend of Dragoon is just so... I dunno, uninspired? The story and characters put me to sleep and the clunky battle system somehow manages to be worse than the ever popular "rapidly mash X" of games at the time. I mean, you'd think with the whole precision thing it'd feel more interesting but the damn attack animations all take like an hour so the battles really feel like they drag oon (get it). It's like FFVII would be if every attack was a summon with the power of a normal attack, but you had to do minigames during your attacks which is supposed to make it more fun or something.
I will admit I liked a decent amount of the music, though. That might be enough to warrant a 2 but eh, don't think so.
Also I suppose Dragon Warrior 7 might be worse but I don't feel it's fair to judge that one as I only played like 5 hours of it. Granted I didn't play through Legend of Dragoon in its entirety either but I did play through the first disc and I believe most of the second disc which was more than enough <_<

8/10. I liked it quite a lot back when I first played it, nearly a decade. Finally saw it again when my girlfriend played through it earlier this year. I was quite impressed and thought it had aged quite well; the addition system remains a lot of fun, and while the story does have some goofy bits (most things to do with Haschel, honestly), it also has some genuinely effective parts that hold up well even today.
What system do you use for counting up scores, by the way?

Well I guess I've met my polar opposite in RPG tastes. DQ7 (yes I call it Dragon Quest, Warrior's just stupid... thank god NA is using the original jap name now) was a fantastic game. A little slow I'd say. Definitely not as good as LoD but the job class system was just fab.
And you haven't played the best parts of LoD cuz disc 3 and 4 were the best. With all the plot getting revealed (some of the plot twists are really shocking). Just saying ^_^

If you meant for the average I just use the calculator on my desktop. No of scores by users/No. of users
If you meant on what basis do I give 'My Score"s.. then I have a whole list of games with scores according to myself. They change from time to time with different play-through. All in all my scores according to myself are very fair and honest.
In long ago days, the continent of Endiness was ruled by the Winglies under their fearsome leader Melbu Frahma. And then I stopped taking the game seriously. But I enjoyed it!
-- I don't like this duchy. Now, it's an adventurer.
I really enjoy it. It's not my favorite or anything, but the battle system is great. I wish more RPG's required timed attacks. It makes every battle enjoyable.
