Did a sidequest to slay a Blue Yian Kut-Ku, but the bastard's Monster Den didn't have any of his egg >_>. Still rocking my 4 monster team of Velocidrome, Aptonoth, Azuros, and Yian Kut-Ku.

Storywise, both childhood friends have gone their separate ways. Cheval outgrew his cowardly ways after his mom died, and is now off to slay all monsters leaving everyone in the village behind. I assume he'll go down the path of a Monster Hunter. Lilia on the other hand will be a Monster Scholar, and left the village in tow with other Blight investigators. That leaves my Rider, Anastasia, alone in the village... but not for long. Navirou coaxed my Rider to leave the confines of the village and eventually slew the Blighted Nargacuga that started off the split, and in the process purifying the Kinship Ore nearby.

Just before the final boss of the Pondry Hills area, my Demo FINALLY decided it was the best time to stop the game and force me to play the full game. Sweet Jegus that was a long ass Demo. I continued with my cartridge (and got all the Demo and Generations save file bonuses) and slew the Blighted Nargacuga with my Yian Kut-Ku's Fireball Expulsion Kinship Skill at max level. Dropped an item to boot!

Story wise Pondry Hills is done but I still need to get more Monsties with skills I need to fully explore the place, and I still need to find a Blue Yian Kut-Ku egg and they only appear there, and I don't think I found all the Poogies there yet. But for now, it's off through the Darj Snowfields, and beyond the Monster Riders' secret sanctum...

Can't wait for when my Rider inevitably clashes with the Monster Hunters of the rest of the Monster Hunter world. Hell, there's an explicit law that forbade Riders from going off the village because of fear of what will happen when the Hunters find out the Riders exist.

I thought Lagiacrus was just something they were working on in testing and maybe showed people behind closed doors, but eventually ended up scrapping him because they didn't want to do underwater combat

Hatched Tauntaun the Popo, Mara the Khezu, Deep One the Zamtrios, and Gillburs the Bulldrome

Dropped Azuros and Aptonoth to make room for Khezu, Bulldrone, and Zamtrios. Khezu is ****ing amazing with his Roar keeping enemy monsters down, and I love its Kinship skill animation.

Bulldrome sucks. Oh sure its got ATK up the wazoo, but it keeps spamming that low accuracy Tackle move. Should have kept Arzuros for my power user instead, but now Im stucked with this stupid thing

Anyway, slowly making my way through the Darj Snowfields and the Windertide Tunnels, and followed a Barioth who is guarding an injured Rider. Along the way, smacked this annoying Lagombi off the path. Wonder why I didnt find a Lagombis egg yet though

Holy **** yes I've got a Red Khezu. This is even better than the Khezu. Also I finally found out why I couldn't find a Lagombi egg... it was story blocked. And I keep forgetting Paintballs allows me to make a monster run the hell away. Going to go back and hunt down a Blue YKK one of these days and get its damn egg.

Story wise we made friends with a fellow Rider from a different village, Avinia, the Barioth Rider we saved. Liked her more than the other two from the Village. After taking down a Zamtrios and a Bulldrome, we finally meet Hunters... and they're all so ridiculously chill about meeting a Rider. Hmm, I was expecting some conflict, but hey, love, peace, and all that stuff.

Now I'm tasked with hunting down a Lagombi egg for this Wyverian who I'm pretty sure is the Channeling Master we're tasked with finding.

Also Khezu warning keeps popping up here and there. I hate fighting those things in the main series, and I hate fighting them here. For a Technician these bastards keep using Power attacks and special attacks, messing up my Head to Head fights.

Blue Yian Kut-Ku egg finally get! Too bad I don't have the space for it in my party, I need to make space for Lagombi. After unlocking the Rite of Channelling and genesplicing a Fireball spewing Lagombi and a Thunder Bingo Red Khezu, I finished off most of the Subquests available but I couldn't find a Zamtrios to slay, ugh. I'd dive into a Monster den but nah. After parting ways with Avinia and her gigantic crystal wall busting Barioth, we clean out the rest of the tunnel and fight off a Khezu... where I did horribly against and only got a C rank. Ugh. Emerging into a Japan like place, the only monsters here are Aptonoths, though the Monster Dens here have loads of different kinds of eggs.

Also along the way I found a sleeping Pink Rathian.

And being the fool that I am, I poked it awake. Needless to say with one move it put me in red AND halved my Monstie's HP, so I ran the **** away all the way into the Hunter's Guild stronghold city, Gildegaran.

In retrospect, marching into town on top of a Red Khezu is probably one of the worst entrances I can make. Them Khezu be freaky looking and making the citizens flip out. Next mission is to find asylum from the Hunter Guildmaster, but ehh I'll do it tomorrow.

Geez, with 1 word from the Guild Master, the entire town is ok with my Monsties. For the most part anyway. After getting settled in next door to the Raddest (?) Hunter in Gildegaran, and Im tasked with hunting down a Royal Ludroth in the Hills.

But screw that, a whole bunch of new subquests called Forge Quests are now open, allowing me to finally use all my monster materials Ive been hoarding for seeet equipment

Unfortunately they also cost Zenny. Lots and lots of Zenny. Par the course of course, So now Im grinding monsters to kill. Doing the ones that havent been killed 15 times (minimum amount to get all the titles), as well as finding missed Lost Poogies and winning the Awards (like for executing 10 perfect Great Sword combos and getting 50 S Rank for a battle)

As I Kill more monsters, the more the Hunters Guild is warming up to me, including the Rad Hunter Reverto. Hunted down a Royal Ludroth, a Nerscylla, and even a Qurupeco. The last one was a bastard that called down a ****ing Blighted Rathian! Fortunately, it was nowhere near as powerful as the Pink Rathian I encountered earlier, so I slew both of them.

Speaking of Pinkie, I actually managed to sneak into a Pink Rathian den and ran away with an egg before the her royal highness could hunt me down.

Unfortunately, my Kinship Level is too low to use a monster with Pink Rathians Rarity, so shes stuck there in the stable until I progress further in the story. Man what a ripoff.

Anyway, heading off into the Desert where theres the Black Fiend terrorizing the place. Its most likely a Blighted Diablos corrupting the desert as it rampages, but we cant even get close to observe it because its constantly surrounded by Quicksands generated by 3 other monsters, a Barrioth, a Daimyo Hermitaur, and a Cephadrome.

A Riders job is never finished. Going out into the desert next time I play.

Benching Crimara the Red Khezu was a huge mistake, nobody else in my party comes close to its amazing offense. Plus, Ludroths have this stupid move called Merciless Tackle that is basically like Hyper Beam in Pokmon: big damage but cant do a damn thing next turn. And the AI loves to spam that move.

Too bad my current party is the only combination I have that has Ground Dive, Rock Breaker, Swim, Jump, and Ivy Climb. Goddamn HM Slaves all over again

Oh right, as for World, I got it last week and I'm into early high rank. Man, making weapons in this game is even grindier in some ways that in previous games, since you can't just forge something and upgrade it once and be up to date, you have to go through the Jagras/Tobi/etc trees to get to it first. The material requirements per weapon are tamer thus far than 3U or especially FU but you need so many steps. Don't necessarily mind it for the most part, but boy do I have a million Tobis and Tzitzis to kill (why do I need Tzitzi claws for so many random weapons?). Fun game so far
