It's rather taboo in Western society, which is weird considering Islam isn't the governing body of any of those countries and the majority of people are not Islam. We're never going to move past religion if we keep making concessions for it. We need to just treat Christianity and Islam like anything else until we can normalize how not special they are, in spite of any negative response.
