They have Geralt, which is neat..... but also 3 or 4 years after people stopped caring about the last Witcher game.

SC4 sold like hotcakes cuz of the Star Wars characters. SC2 sold a ton because of Link/Heihachi.

SC5 had Ezio. Who, while cool, didn't really light sales.

So what would it take for you to go from "why did they spell 'caliber' wrong" to "okay DAY ONE"?

I've also always thought Jack Sparrow could be a fun SC guest character but not a day one buy.

Or Cloud or Kenshin, any cool sword guy.

Let's be real, here. "Poor performance" isn't really anything they're worried about with SC. SCIV sold well and they still tried to say it would be the last one, and had to be "persuaded" to make SCV. They say every SC is the last one and I don't think sales really matter all that much because they're just weird.

I'm buying the game regardless but Aloy would be cool if they wanted a Sony exclusive.

also they had Spawn that time... it wouldn't be much weirder if they put Venom in now to cross promote that dumb movie. I'd be into that

oh and Richter Belmont should be in this game too. He'd fit right in.

But insofar as 'think could/will happen' and 'would actually affect sales', I think a My Hero Academia character would at least fit the themes of the series well and would make an impact. Or, like, Samurai Jack.

The only Academia characters popular enough to be put in a game like this would be Deku, All Might, Bakugo, or Todoroki all who dont really have a weapon fit for this game since they're either punches are elemental stuff

I'm going to buy it day one anyway, but I think a Dynasty Warriors character like Lu Bu or Zhao Yun would fit really well in Soul Calibur. Lu Bu in particular would be awesome. I'd also be super stoked for 2B or 9S.

As nice as DW would be, it's a TK series, and they're already guesting in DoA, so that's not really possible.

I was rather fond of the silly Lucina guest in a Switch version rumour way back when, but that obviously isn't happening.

If they had to include another guest character, 2B would be my choice, but if they really wanted to sell copies, maybe someone like Aragorn? LotR is one of those series that hasn't gotten any less popular over time, and fits thematically.
