I'm thinking if getting a 2016ish Nissan Maxima or a Dodge Charger

Pros of the Maxima
Bigger, so better for the family
More features

Pros of the Charger
Cooler looking
Will get props from the locals(the locals here only like pick ups and sports cars)

What do you think?

Charger, but only because I can't stand driving full-size. Feels like I am navigating a yacht down the road. Otherwise I actually like Nissan, it is pretty much the only Japanese cars I can stand driving.

Price, both up front and upkeep/insurance. Have a feeling your Charger would be the higher option but you decide if it's worth it.

More along the lines of your question, do you need an 'everybody' car or will the other get used often enough as a personal car to be worthwhile?

I have a full sized car already(2018 VW Passat), and I think it drives as well as my previous cars(03 Camry, 01 TL, 13 Sonata, and 15 Civic Coupe). So it being a full sized car is a plus for me, since I like my cars big because of the kid and one more that we'll likely have in a few years.

Up front, they're about the same, but I'm guessing the insurance will most likely be more for the Charger. We have a Passat as a family car already, so I'll most likely get to have fun with the Charger if I get it.

As someone who gave up a Subaru WRX for a Subaru Outback, I say go for functionality. It was definitely fun driving the WRX for seven some years but after a while her size and storage was very limiting for camping trips so I opted for the Outback. I miss the power of the WRX but after almost two years of driving the Outback and the many camping/road trips I've been on, I do not regret my decision.

I only regret not switching to the Outback sooner as I spent about a grand for a new clutch, front axles, brakes, and alternator only to get a blown head gasket few weeks later on the WRX.

I was actually kind of looking at the WRX and the Evo X since they're sedans as well.

For a car? Functionality, every time.

It's a hunk of metal designed to get you from Point A to Point B. Comfortably if so, that's the one exception I'd make if you roadtrip frequently.

Literally the only pro to the charger is so people will like your car. That's really pathetic.

Not really, I really like the car. I had one for a few weeks when someone destroyed my Sonata's trunk, and it was a really badass car.

I kind of want to hear the reason why people are shitting on the Charger so much. It's a pretty badass car.

So... I said that I need a 4 door sedan for the family, so you recommend a 2 seater and a small ass sedan. Do you have any common sense whatsoever?

Despite being a sedan, I think the WRX is a smirge on the smaller side. Doable for a group of five but it'll be cozy.

Yeah, I figured as much. I should really just get the Maxima. I think I'm trying to hold on to my 20's, when I should just embrace the 30's and the dad life.(I'm still a little ways from 30, but it's still too close)
