I am deeply ashamed that I bought into the Ren/Joker hype created by this board. How was this goofball ever really going to win?

Joker is a terrible name. It's probably a mistranslation from Japanese. And who the hell on this site has even played Persona 5?

I hear you say: "but it was runner up to GoTY in two thousand and whatever"

No one cares. What the hell is GoTY. The 20 odd percent (or less?) that voted for it did so largely because it was the only game they played, or they played another Persona game and none of the other options.

This is compulsory voting. You vote for one, you vote for them all. Of the 80% of people that didn't play Persona 5, how many would honestly vote for him over Claire?

I mean, who would ever click a button centred around a gender neutral headshot of 'Joker'. No one is confusing it for the cool Batman Joker, believe me. His name makes him sound like a gender neutral Japanese elf. I wouldn't be surprised if his in game 'party' has equally terribly translated and literal names like "Starry Boy", "Cool", "JP" and so on.

I assume 'Joker's' gender is supposed to be at least slightly ambitious but seriously, I am amazed that a gender ambiguous character could look so mundane and boring to the majority male fanbase of GamefAQs users. Ramza at least sent the heart racing, you know?

His picture is truly repulsive. Repulsive to the point that when I am on the GameFAQs homepage I feel ashamed that I love this contest and was conned into thinking this guy was the rightful favourite.

How do you feel about this match?

I had Claire in my bracket. I figured the only real argument for Joker was that Claire would be even weaker, but based on Nakurami I didn't think she would be quite that bad. The 2 seed might have thrown some people off just because they would've thought that Joker would have bracket votes or something.

I feel like I have finally ascended above the level of having to care for the petty bleating of the meager masses that populate this world. I can be free to exist on my own level of awareness, fully cognizant of my superiority, my sole regret that I will not live to see these worthless worms extinguished, never hear their dying screams, never revel in their agony.

But then I come to my senses and realize all I did was vote for the winner of a GameFAQs contest poll and that's really not that special

I liked where this was going, but then you went and spoiled it all by saying something stupid like the GameFAQs contest doesnt matter.

I didn't say the contest doesn't matter wtf this contest is the most important thing to happen to mankind since the invention of the TV remote control, it's just not that special to have been a meager one vote in it
