I'm not really a fan of Fallout, but from what I understand Nukes can go off rearranging whole areas in real time, and multiple ones at that. People should have expected to some extent that the game may release buggy.

I also hate Gamestop for various reasons, so I can't completely blame the guy for going off. I just stopped buying from there though and mostly just use digital and streaming, and Amazon for hardware.

I think Walmart let's you with your receipt. Not positive though.

My mom use to work there, I asked and she said only if the game is defective. But I'm reading some stuff, and you may be able to complain up the chain and get a refund.

Brick and mortar stores are all like that. If it's defective, they'll let you swap it for the same thing, but won't give you a refund. Applies to games, movies, and CDs. You might get lucky with some mom and pop shops or online sellers, though.

Back then if you pre ordered Wind Waker, they also offered to give you a free copy of OoT Master Quest. I didn't pick them up when they released cause I had to wait like I think three days cause I needed a ride. When I came there they told me they gave away my copy of Master Quest cause I waited too long. When I complained they belittled me telling me something like, well you got your copy of WW when I said why did I bother pre ordering it. I tried calling the store for a manager and they basically blew me off. I forget if I called corporate or not, but I don't think it would have got me what I was after anyway, cause they printed them in conjunction with the number of pre orders. I'm almost sure an employee stole my game. I've hated them ever since, and once online and Walmart started proving to have equal or better deals, I abandoned them completely (except for once a few years ago when they exclusively had the right thumb stick add on for the original 3DS). The non violent way of just talking with your wallet I will agree is better, but I can't completely blame the guy for going off, he may also have had other bad experiences with Gamstop.

I haven't walked into a GameStop in ages (and won't any time in the foreseeable future) but I've had zero problems with buying from them online.

Always gotten the right games in a good condition and always on time or better.

And occasionally you find prices that are legit good. I bought the entire Etrian Odyssey series from them in various increments.

Yeah, GameStop seems to work well online, when their online actually works. I used it last year on Black Friday. It crashed for awhile that day though. In store pickup has worked well too.

It's like buying the display model of almost anything else at a store. They don't typically give you a discount unless they just want to get rid of the thing. I love it when a promotion is while stocks last and people turn up after there is no stock left and complain they didn't get the offer. My favourite is when they claim it's false advertising. Sometimes I miss managing a store, then I remember most adults are terrible, entitled, misinformed cretins and I'm glad I switched to teaching.
