I'm glad I grew up when I did. To me it just doesn't get better than the classic TV specials like Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, etc. I've never really seen anything as "classic" other than those, least of all some live action movie. The only recent one I can think of that comes close is A Christmas Carol (2009). I don't know how accurate that is to the book but it looks beautiful and dripping with Christmas spirit as dark and depressing as it is at times.

Arthur Christmas is one of the most recent I enjoy watching mainly because of Byrony (the elf that helps Arthur). Of course I also enjoy British comedians such as Monty Python; so it's not surprising. Not that I don't enjoy Elf and Die Hard, however.
